If you've a shoe shop local to you, you could ask if they've any spare shoe boxes and cover them with paper. I'm doing that for the pressies I have to post and for the males in the family

If you are interested in boxes, there are many FREE [my kind of price!] templates for making up folded cardboard/paper boxes, or even the fabric covered boxes. It's something I keep meaning to do ....

Hi there all - have been lurking for a while here getting loads of great ideas for christmas but today I have realised it's:
    125 days until christmas:eek: :rudolf: :xmassmile :snow_laug :santa2:
that may sound a lot to some people but it's not when you've got a list of things to make like I have:

    Want to make:
a few mini scrapbooks for friends and family
all my own handmade gift tags and perhaps spruce up some plain gift bags
the wooden spoon nativity scene I found on here(my 3 year old will love it)
an advent box for my child with a craft activity for every day with something to do with christmas in each compartment that she can then give as gifts
    some home made decorations
    some home made fudge
the door hangers - love them rainmac
anything else I see that I think could make a cheap extra pressie

I need to get my act together - can imagine DH is going to get sick of the mention of christmas before long - on the plus side when school term starts I'll have more time to catch up on all this.

What are people making for men on here???

Will have to go back and read through whole thread - so I haven't missed anything, please feel free to kick me up the backside to push me on with all this.

I don't think they would look silly at all and plastic baskets are always really useful ;)

Pressies I'm doing/ have done for men: car wash bucket, caddy (sectioned sort of box you'd keep screws/nails in) of old fashioned sweets, magazine subscription using Tesco Clubcard vouchers (ok, not making this one!), 365 facts in a jar (if you'd like the facts document please pm me with your email address and I'll send it), kiddie handprints on a canvas with the handprint poem somewhere on this thread. That's all I can think of for now! HTH :D

Thought of another one: film/movie basket - DVD/s or rental voucher, popcorn, popcorn tub/bowl, sweets.
