Thanks Pips Mum, that was what I was doing, it's just really slow, as I have seperated mine into colours and had two batchss so had to filter 10 bottles!
I read somewhere that condensed milk makes it sweeter but no idea how much to add, any ideas anyone?0 -
Wouldn't condensed milk make it opaque? Perhaps sugar syrup would be easier, or just sugar?
(sugar syrup - combine equal volumes if sugar and hot water. Stir to dissolve. Allow to cool before using.)0 -
I spent all last night straining my skittle flavoured vodka only to have to add more sweets as the smirnoff is still too sharp! I was not expected it to take so long and next week I'll have to do it again to get rid off the froth from the extra sweets, why is nothing as quick as you expect! Argghhhhh!
i ended up binning mine cos after i had strained it twice and put in air tight bottles it developed a nice fur coat!!! apparently from the sweets causing it to go mouldy. wont be trying it again.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

Oh no! I hope that doesn't happen to me! I'll put mine in the freezer as soon as I can, maybe that will help?0

I wish I could see all the lovely pictures at work!
It's me again asking for some advice (sorry!)
I'm making my youngest niece (aged about 6 months I think) a felt book for Christmas and wanted to call it 'Emma's Christmas Alphabet'. The idea is each page will have an appliqued felt design on it for each letter of Christmas.
So far I have only made one page (R) and had some ideas for the others. So far I have:
C
H is for Holly and Ivy
R is for Robins and Reindeer
I is for Icicles and Snow
S is for Stockings
T is for the Christmas Tree
M is for Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus in the Manger
A is for Angels singing
S is for the Shepherds (either the ones in the Nativity or our family as our surname is Shepherd)
Can anyone think of anything better for H and anything for C. I asked my OH but he kept coming up with rediculous things as I think he's fed up of me asking his advice on everything! I thought perhaps C is for Christingle, because I remember going to this service with Brownies and school, but I don't know if it's just a C of E thing or if Catholics have it too (she's being brought up as a Catholic).
I thought it would be a nice idea as she'll be able to feel all the pages and things and it will be something to keep as she's older, and baby's don't really need much for Christmas so thought other toys/clothes would be a bit daft.0 -

C is for Crackers?
C is for Cake?
C is for Candles?
H is for holiday ( you could maybe do a snowman and a snowflake??)
Fantastic idea - you must post piccies when you're done.

They still have Christingle services but I have a feeling it might be CofE only. I used to love them, can still remember the smell of the candle in the orange.0
