You should be able to get hold of invisible thread, it's basically 'Clear' thread that blends well with all colours. I use it for quite a few bits and bobs. I buy mine from the haberdashers in the market. If you can't find any and you want some message me and I'll pick you some up.

Gosh, I am such an idiot! I have tons of the stuff! why did I not think of that!! I'll unstitch them and try again, thank you so so much!

Where did you find the pattern for the bunnies and does anyone know where to find other face cloth/soap animals? They might already have been given but I can't find them. PS - I'm blaming MSE for my sleepless nights, having found this fantastic site. :rudolf:
Try searching booboo bunnies and chicks also there is a flannel doll on this thread somewhere too icon7.gif

If you'd like to come and do my housework for me then I will :D Too much to do and not enough time as usual... We recently took the boys to Thomas the Tank Engine Land at Drayton Manor and I might use photos from that day for the book and give it to the OH. I feel a cheat as the papers are already there and ribbon/ tags etc already stuck on :o I was going to give this one a go (when time allows) and then go all out in January for 12x12 spreads. Got my papers - K&Co Rough and Tumble and bits for that (have 2 boys so range is very appropriate ;)) and a fab new album from lovely melissa75 :D

• Hi Im new here, but no stranger to being frugal!
Just thought Id post my crafting xmas projects here, although theyre probably nothing new!!

I have made 6 envelope design cushions - The three DD's were made from horse themed cushion panels from ebay, around £1-£2 each, with my own material (old duvet covers or curtains) for the back, and the stuffing was from an old settee cushion I had in my 'store' of stuff. I even made covers for the stuffing, out of curtain lining material (again from my 'store' ). Two of the covers were made from bandana's, again from my 'store' of craft stuff.
Total cost per cushion - average £1.50

not really a craft - For the men, I made up some mugs filled with chocolate goodies - bought 4 mugs for £1.99. Bought several varieties of hot chocolate drink sachets (25-35p), a pack of toffee crisps, some choc eclairs and some choc money. Wrapped each one in a clear bag and tied with red and green ribbon from my 'store'. Total cost per mug £1.70

I made 3 jars of bath salts for the ladies, which contain dead sea, epsom and coloured salts, they are in some jars with a lock on (like pickling jars?) which Ive had for ages since they were selling them cheap in tesco.
These didnt work out quite so cheap, at about £3 or £4 per jar, but you live and learn!!

Not exactly crafty, but - I will be copying 10 music cds for my brother, and scanning the inlays on mums PC (with her paper *ahem*) and all I will pay for for that gift is the 10 jewel cases - £2 in a cheap shop.
Might make him a cushion as Ive one filling spare!

Total for 13 peoples presents = £28

Not bad, considering that if you allow just £5 per present per person (like we used to) that would be a total of £65 !!! EEeek!

• Hi a Newbie here

Hoping to make ' home made fundge and butter tablet for chrisatmas presents. Anyone know where I could buy nice quality gift boxes to put it in or cellophane bags? Also if I use the gift boxes I am going to need to use greaseproof paper does it only come in white or are there more festive colours?

All help greatly appreciated

HI there

I've found ebay the best place to look for cellophane bags etc. You can get plain or decorated, festive etc. have a search around.

As for greaseproof paper - I've only ever seen the usual supermarket stuff, but coloured tissue paper would work well - again have a look on ebay :D

On one of her tv shows Nigella lawson made honeycomb and wrapped it in pink tissue paper in a metal container - it looked really pretty.

i'm really pleased with them. :D thanks to the OP for the idea. there is a scratch card in each and 2 x £1 coin, ferreo rocher, caramel cups, some toffees and a few other "gold wrapped" sweets. i hope my sis likes hers (and shares the winnings if she gets any!!!) the other 1 is mine from the kids.
