pinkladymel your book is just beautiful as is everything you turn your hand to.
Angie, gorgeous cards, I love them.
yummymummyamy the pots of gold look fantastic with the gold organza - nice touch.
rainmac love the book and you made such a lovely job of the frame, fantastic x stitch as always too.

Sorry if I missed anyone, you're all so busy now there's so much to look at. Thanks as always for all putting your pics up, keeps me entertained for ages.

Wouldn't condensed milk make it opaque? Perhaps sugar syrup would be easier, or just sugar?
(sugar syrup - combine equal volumes if sugar and hot water. Stir to dissolve. Allow to cool before using.)

If you add sugar to the alchohol wouldn't that make the vodka more alchoholic ie higher proof spirit

Yes, I often got a singed nose trying to eat the jelly tots of the wooden cocktail stick while still holding the orange

My tuppence towards the crimbo alphabet...
    C----carols; baby Christ
H----holly is an important part of crimbo if I recall, summat to do with crown of thorns & blood red colour of the berries ; halo

Whatever you decide, a lovely thought indeed & what an heirloom it will make for the bubb's own children.

  • The book is a really lovely idea Nemo but one thought with 'icicles and snow' is that it may confuse the child when they are learning to spell as snow doesn't begin with 'i', maybe it would be better just to go with Icicles on it's own? Please don't think I'm being mean, it's just as i live with a nursery nurse who is VERY particular about things like that! I'm sure it will be gorgeous and such a lovely thing to keep! xx

nemotoad - love the idea of the felt book but wouldn't get it done in time for this year -baby grandson will be 2 and half by next christmas..........will he be too old for that sort of thing by then ?
Other grandchildren are 16 now and been a long time since I did anything like that.
