    hi all :D

from rainmac's fab idea was wondering if any of you can help with ideas one of the items for survial kit bag was a bauble (to make Xmas sparkle) has any one got any other ideas of an item i could use to make xmas sparkle as need one bag done asap and dont have any baubles to hand and cant get to shop , thanks for your help
will catch up on thread today after college :D

How about just sprinkling some glitter in the bag or adding a small sachet / tube of glitter , that they can sparkle at will , for those moments when they need to sparkle, like when people say to throw salt over your shoulder for luck , could you do a rhyme about throwing some sparkle around

Sparkley letters cut from card, to spell sparkle or the persons name

    Some nice sparkley tinsel

What about some sequins, ribbon or thread ,either just put in pack as it or make something. Could be something simple like threading the sequins onto thread or the ribbon , could then be a tree decoration.

A little rhyme/ story about sparkle using the letters
    S - for Santa
    P - Presents

    and so on......

any sparkley jewellery , nothing fancy , earrings, brooch , pendant , keyring

I'm sure if you have a root about you'll be amazed at what might jump out at you

    Good luck

Do you have any glitter for Xmas sparkle?
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain
  • Was thinking about xkymx and how i had suggested putting some packets or tubes glitter or something in the kits...........well guess what kept me awake last night

Had loads of ideas and rhymes and stuff in my head , wish i had wrote them down, well anyway thinkin on this morning i tried to remember , here's what i've got so far

    Christmas time is here again
Full of laughter, love and joy
When friends and family fill our lives
    But sadly can still annoy

So when that time draws near
And you feel ready to unravel
I’ll help you spread a little cheer
And fill your world with dazzle

    Instructions
    • Open me ,remember give a little smile
    • Count to ten if it helps
    • If you need just a little sparkle, one pinch is more than enough
    • For those more stressed and strained times a pinch of me in each hand will only do
    • Now think of the problem, worry or fact and take a step back, all things considered, is it really that bad?
    • Sprinkle me here , sprinkle me there, sprinkle me everywhere
    • Now its time to laugh , smile or even cry an turn that frown upside down , go on give it a try
N.B only in extreme circumstances is it allowed to sprinkle or pour me over the problem, Partner, Children, In-laws.
Just remember it may all end in GIGGLES
  • Oh Rainmac , thanks , I ordered those bags you used for the survival kits , they came yesterday , and they are ideal for my bath cookies

    Excellent

Cant wait to get stuck in , wish i had bought two packs now , was thinking of filling them with sweets instead of giving selection boxes to the kids this year

I am being very frugle this year as i have just split up with my husband.
Mum & Dad, Middle brother & Fiance - Dinner Party for max 10 people (really cheeky as it is only for the cooking & serving, they have to pay the food cost)
Youngest Brother (returning from Auz to live with parents) - Romantic night in voucher (I cook & serve a meal at my flat (the pays th food cost) & then i go & stay at mum & Dads for the night)
Best Friend & works secret santa (both have 2 kids & no time to herself) - Baby sitting vouchers
We also do secret santa for mums side of the family so that helps with the cost.
I also take any leftovers from my dinner into to work & sell it to my boss who is not the best cook, so I end up eating for free/very low cost as he has no idea of the cost & it would only go in the bin (I can't cope with the same meal twice in a row & I really struggle to cook for 1!

Merry Christmas to one & All

So sorry to hear about your split hun :o Well done on the moneysaving - so make sure you don't end up feeling guilty if you *don't* take food in for your boss. If he starts to rely on it you will be in a tricky situation when you want to stop... wean him off gradually and freeze portions for yourself for some well deserved lazier nights with no cooking :T

I have made chutney for the first time this month and also lemon curd, very pleased and will make some variations for Xmas for people. Is it right that there is an apple lemon curd... or any other variation I can try?

Jam will be next when I find some fruit going cheap:beer:
