Hi KeithP

It was to advise the Person asking that she or he could save £5 a ticket booking on the FGW site using the £5 off offer.0 -
I need 2 adult tickets to go from Birmingham to Glasgow on June 26.
Leave Birmingham 07.19, return Glasgow 18.40
The cheapest way is to buy singles which are £37 each way.
The dilemma is I have a family railcard but I won't be travelling with children. If I took a child, the price for 2 adults and 1 child would be £111.70, against 2 adult tickets total price £148.
Can I purchase a child's ticket, but the child doesn't travel saving me £36?
Many thanks.0 -

Hi all,
I've had a look on the virgin site for Preston to Euston (13/08 rtn 17/08). If I've done this right, I can get a 2 1st class tickets for £194. Trying the split ticket route (via Wigan, Crewe or Warrington) it comes out at 216 for the same trains.
does anyone know of any cheaper deals on this route?
Thanks,
Ian"0 -
Ian, on the dates you mention Preston - Euston can be done at £10.50 each way using Std Advance Singles.
See the NXEC website for details (where you can check 1st Class if you like  ).0 -
Hi All,
I'm normally pretty niffty with my cheap train fares but I'm struggling with the Leeds to London route (both ways as it happens) its a regular journey as OH lives there and for the past month and more I've been having to coach it as train fares are over £40 - until then I was getting the late night trains for about £10 each way (sometimes £5)...the expensive side of the trip seems to be the Sunday coming back rather than Friday night up, but the only cheap Friday is the 3 hour 30 minute train - well you might as well get a coach then for £5 each way *rolls eyes*
I've tried the usual splitting but its the same price - has anyone found any cheap tickets on this route recently or should I just give looking and accept they have put the price up massively...0 -
Just looking for cashback on any sites - the cashback from Trainline and RailEasy is out weighed by booking fees
Any others?0 -
Hi, do you know how to use any exisiting £5 off FGW codes. It says they're valid until the end of the month, but therer doesn't seem to be anywhere to enter and no link from https://www.fgw5pounds.co.uk.
Thanks for any help.
Go to the scotrail website and do it there.
You will need to put in FGW5OFF then your code when it asks you but dont forget to do it before end of July.0
