Now thats not very nice is it?
If you borrow money with no idea of how you will pay it back, then you have no INTENTION of paying back. It's just stealing, plain and simple. What does it matter to you about people being in debt, it's not your money.
Because if people don't repay the bank the banks will collapse and end up being supported by the taxpayer... and that IS my money.
People think that if they don't repay debts it doesn't matter as it's the banks loss, or the banks greedy shareholders loss. It's not, it's the banks depositors loss and the loss of the people who have their pensions with the bank.
In a few months the credit troubles will start to collapse the big pension funds and then the bleating will start. Pretty sharpish the taxpayer will be bailing out a failed pension fund, then the amounts of money will be too big for the taxpayer and the whole system will collapse.
Young people don't know how to riot. Get a load of OAPs who've lost their pensions, who know how to organise and have nothing to lose apart from a retirement in poverty, and "the city" as they call it will burn.Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
You seem to have taken a lot of this very personally, have you lost your pension?
Most people, I would hazard a guess, do intend to pay back what they borrowed. However circumstances change all the time, partnerships break up, people die, people get terminal illness, BTL landlords go bankrupt thus meaning the tenants have to find somewhere else to live, childcare needs paying, yada yada yada.........
I think your frustration is misdirected SN, it's not the prole's you should target it's the Government and the big corporations, and you break the walls down from the inside not the outside!;)
So, do you squat, have you or will you ever be a squatter, or do you just like the anarcho sound of it all?DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

That sounds like a quote from a Sun or Daily Express reader.
For the uneducated amongst you, every single person in the country pays taxes in some shape or another, everything is taxed pretty much, so we all pay.:rolleyes:DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

I go on both boards and am more direct on here but fluffy on the DFW board.....
I suppose the difference on the DFW board to here is that over there people have seen it, done it and got the T shirt and can relate to how others feel when things are going AWOL, whereas on here, it is more advice without the bells and whistles regarding rules, legalities etc.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Firstly I agree some comments are rude and unhelpful, not tough love, and some make me annoyed. I've aired my opinion on that before
I've never been to the DFW board, I might check it out....BUT....I know I too will get annoyed by top level sky users etc etc.
And, er, it kinda IS our money (some of it) isn't it? Not just through taxes for wlefare system but through the overhead on costs of goods and contracts put on to cover costs of no-payments and thefts (not saying the two are he same but both cost all other consumers money).
Incidently life has taken me there, I worked since a teenager, held a full time job while at full time university then got very badly sick in my 20s. I am proud that I was able to provide for myself through the worst and that as soon as I possibly could I worked again, and managed not to take the benefit. Now my husband supports me and we could save more if I were working or on a benefit (not even sure I'd be eligable because we are not in debt) but we prefer to do it this way. Not because I think its shameful to take benefit when you need it, but because I think its shameful to take it if you don't.0 -
LOL - I love the way you say you don't spend your time putting others down after doing just that.
Lol - I guess it could be construed as a put down...I honestly wrote it as an observation.....since we're all so straight to the point and direct on this board.;)January 2014 - £20,3400 -

That's the point really - most of what is written on this board is merely an observation, rather than a put down. Many posters are obviously in a stressful situation and still in the denial stage of facing up to their debts, and are sometimes a little oversensitive to being told that they need to give up Sky/their 4 bed house/their second car in order to start to get out of debt. That doesn't mean that this advice isn't needed though.0 -

Yeah thats true. But if OP has written in their first post that they feel like slitting their wrists (which I have read recently) I think people should restrain themselves and try to be slightly more sensitive.
Honestly if you cant do that you have the option to stay out of the thread....January 2014 - £20,3400 -
I understand (in theory I hasten to add) your analogy, however I do think that there are some quite sharp commentators on both boards that need to remember that we're all here to guide, support and advise each other.
You obviously haven't visited the Vent board then??? Some are just too scared to post on there now, as when you've finished your vent, your entire thread gets picked to pieces and insulted...
DFW is for hugs, and this board is for (mostly) solid advice on what to do.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
