Well I had a lovely walk and went to the duck pond to chill and catch my breath as it was so warm (glad I took a bottle of water with me!) and ended up standing there for over an hour watching a heron hunting :D I tried to film it with my mobile but the quality was rubbish and you can't really see anything so I'm going to take the digital camera with me this evening instead :D There were also ducks, moorhens and dragonflies plus lots of little bugs flying about which might have been ladybirds but I'm not sure. Looksie :

Right, since ebay have another 5p listing day I'm going to try to get some more stuff listed on Turbolister, I think I'll do that of an evening though and only put the stuff thats not "media" on for now as books and that are 5p anyway

Also need to get some studying done, but first I'm going to do a HHC in the kitchen and see what I can get done. Not being here all weekend meant a lack of dishes, until tea last night :o I also need to put the washing out on the washing line thats just finished.

    Happy Birthday Hippy

Congrats Nicki on that coursework mark - hopefully that will make you feel a bit more confident about studying

mudbath sorry to hear your sad news. Good idea to take your mind off it.

a more civilised hello now from me.

DS1 finally gave in and had a nap only an hour later than normal. I daren't close my eyes now though, as DS2 is about due a feed. I can only hope tonight is more peaceful, and i will try to get to bed as early as i can in the hope that makes a difference. Also, tomorrow is a nursery day if DS1 is well enough so i may get some sleep then if not. I much prefer the stage when the baby sleeps through the night. Fingers crossed it happens sooner rather than later. ;)

Anyway, list check, and then off i go again.

    Jobs Achieved:
    • all up and dressed
    • all washed and teeth cleaned
    • food offered to everyone, DS1 turned down 3 different options
    • kitchen bin emptied
    • dining table and mats wiped
    • WM - load of tea-towels and dishcloths - hope to get on the line if DS1 still asleep
    • cleaned up water and food spilt at lunchtime.
    would like to do today:
    • hoover kitchen/DR/LR

Thanks G&B - you've made me cry....again! I guess it's better out than in. I've decided to study as i'm doing about the nervous system at the moment so i'm really having to concentrate. It's also seems appropriate as the guy who died was the one who inspired me to change my career, sort my life out and start down the route of holistic therapies. 12 years on i'm still learning xx

Taurus - I posted to you on the last thread, but in case you missed it, I bought Harlan Coben's Promise Me, and couldn't put it down! You're going to cost me a fortune...

Hi Serena - haven't had chance to finish off last weeks thread yet - I'm on a real roll with reading at the moment and just can't stop :o:o:o I've read 4 books this week and the house looks like....like....like....ummm - well let's say awful doesn't really cover it.

I'm so glad you enjoyed Promise me - now don't forget he also wrote:-
    Tell no one
    Gone for Good
    Just One Look
    The innocent
    No second chance
    The Woods
(Plus a whole series of Myron Bolitar books but I don;t like those as much I prefer his one off's)....and if you fancy a UK writer who writes along the same lines then I can reccommend Simon Kernick :D (but he's only written about 7 books so far)

Right - what can I accomplish this week? Still have DD2 at home on study leave, shouldn't really matter I know (she's 17 not a baby) but I just don't get on the same when I have company at home. As she has finished her exams and needs a break
she has promised  to give her room a complete turn out and clean this week so think I will just keep the house ticking over and try and concentrate on doing jobs that only get done now and then such as:-
    • removing approximately 3,000 books from their shelves, dusting and replacing them
    • washing down the outside paintwork
    • take down and wash the hall curtains
Doesn't seem a very long list but think item 1 might take most of the week anyway

Right off to read the thread and place a Lakeland order - gosh I do seem to be spoiling myself this week one way or another:D
People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading ;)

I also emptied out the under the sink cupboard and sorted through all the stuff - found two unopened bottles of washing up liquid, two bottles of Dettol cleaner, loads of gardening bits (slug pellets, baby bio and so on which I transferred to the shed), numerous bottles of scuff cote polish, two tins of brasso (and I only bought one on Saturday!) and lots of goldfish stuff. Finally I did the bakeware cupboard and binned the manky stuff I never use. Toaster is in porch awaiting collection.

    1. [strike]HHI [/strike] but will need to do more later
    2. Fill a bag for charity shop - half filled - will fill up when I do the next thing!
