Pigpen - that's a lovely post about the aspergers chap - well done you! And it does beg the question, really what is 'normal'? We ALL have our little mad moments, our idiosyncracies and our strange ways of doing things that other people don't do. I do hope your migraine sorts itself out soon....

Right, flowers are all now potted up. I think I can leave my list now for tomorrow. I just need to sort something out for dinner. Once I've taken the paint brushes which are soaking in the sink out, dried them and put them away.....

I have some chicken breasts and some potatoes so I think I'll do mash and then gently fry the chicken in butter and olive oil with garlic, some 'erbs, a little lemon juice, a drop or two of wine and mushrooms. Mmmmm that feels like a plan!

Electra - hugs. Men huh? And they say women are hard to understand :rotfl:One of the reasons I gave up men for lent about 6 years ago and have continued the giving up.... (and no, I haven't swung the other way - I've just become an embittered, cross-patch, celebate and beligerant old woman!)

    soappie,
can't really give him up. I am deeply in  with him but sometimes he gets on my nerves.
actually in fairness to him he puts up with a lot from me.
    cross-patch?

Cross-patch - a term from my childhood - someone who's cross and argumentative at everything....

Quote from "A dictionary of Epithets and Terms of Address" by Leslie Dunkling:

"Cross-patch. Applied to an ill-tempered person since the eighteenth century. The word 'patch' had earlier been used of an ill-natured person, especially a child. This use of 'patch' is thought to derive from the nickname of Cardinal Wolsey's domestic fool or jester, not the word for a piece of cloth. The Oxford English Dictionary mentions that 'cross-patch' is normally applied to a girl or woman..."

    That's me!

Pigpen - what a lovely thing to have said to him, just shows how a little kindness goes a long way (hope that doesn't sound patronising) and am also impressed that you are now saying WHEN you do your course. Hope the migraine improves soon

Mudbath - well done with your client, quite a compliment for her to be willing to travel from Leeds (you are in Cheshire aren't you, not Bradford or somewhere equally close to Leeds? )

Waiting for dinner to finish cooking, am sooo hungry
Don't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli

Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board

    Evening all :hello:

Been shopping and spent a small fortune. Bought ex 3 books & a giftbag to put them in for fathers day (DD is currently making him a card), a CD and card for my dad, and DD bought a birthday card for ex while we were in the card shop (his birthday isn't until July but DD hates card shopping ;) ) :rotfl: I also got a new watch strap on my watch - only been without it since erm....May or so LAST year :o Then we had lunch out at Greggs, a walk in the park, and then popped back to Tesco's as I forgot to get wrapping paper for my dads pressie and I wanted to get a tracksuit top as I was chilly and I needed one anyway :p Then called in to my parents for a quick visit and home. So flying = ZIP today :p

Got a stinker of a sorethroat starting so just going to have a medicinal glass of wine then have a hot honey and lemon before going to bed :o Tomorrow I'll have to nip to Asda as I need to pick up a couple of bits before Monday so I'll do that while DD is out with Ex. Off to get that glass of wine

    Morning ladies

Happy Fathers Day for those of your celebrating and the biggest hugs possible for those of you not for whatever reason (My Dad died 3 years ago so I sure do know how you feel:cry: )

School fete was good and kids had a lovely time and Mum was delighted with the TomTom so I feel it was money well spent.

    Plan for the day is:
    cricket
a bit of time in the garden
    general tidy up
    mow the lawn
    clean the bath
pick more elderflowers - make cordial
    ironing
    soak my feet

I have only done downstairs this week so I think I will start with bedroom tomorrow.

Pigpen I hope you are feeling better today
Mudbath great news on the new client
Soappie fab service from the curtain shop
    Tia how are you today
Kaz, solway, serena and Hex hi to all of you
    Vanilla how is hubbie today?
Michelle watched a video of my older two when they were little yesterday (we never do this) and I thought of you - I had forgotten how full on 2 little people are
Newbies be pleased with what you have achieved and don't get disheartened.

Everybody I have forgotten hope the sun is shining for you

    Morning all,

Nice and sunny here today. Right, my list:
    • Print off photos
    • Invoice
    • Put stuff on ebay Have put a couple of things up - need to do some more tomorrow
    • [strike]Tesco[/strike]
    • [strike]Paint picture rail and skirting board in living room[/strike] DONE! All bar the skirting board behind the Biiiiiiiggg China Cabinet. No-one looks behind there and it would take hours to carefully get all the china out, move it, paint behind it, put it back and replace the china so I've cheated by not doing it at all :D
    • Tidy front room Have started this
    • [STRIKE]Plant up remaining plants bought yesterday (most of them are done)[/STRIKE]
    • Sort out large basket in kitchen
    • [strike]Wash throw from kitchen sofa[/strike]
    • General washing (about 3 loads methinks) 1 load done
    • Clean garden furniture and wax
    • [strike]Buy wax for garden furniture![/strike]
    • [strike]Order more trews from M&S online[/strike]
    • Sort out paper work in 'toy' box and shred anything > 7 years old before putting in recycle bin
    • Find new home for 'toy' box
    • Start on the iron mountain
    • Take photos in park for presentation
    • Prep presentation using photos taken
    • Filing!
    • Start the little settee re-covering
    That'll keep me quiet today!

All of you visiting your Dad's - enjoy. Like Dusty, my Dad's no longer with us - neither's my Mum so I'm an orphan! Feels odd using that term when I'm 50! Right, breakfast (mushrooms on toast I think) then on with the day..
