Nothing major, she's having bloods taken at pediatrics on tuesday so its magic cream!
Ah the magic cream, is it Emla by any chance? And why do they not give it to adults, last time i got blood taken was by a dozy mare. Would have loved some magic cream:DThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
What does magic cream do? What is it? Id it something you need to have had children to know about?
Hubbles commented on the tidiness of the living room and hallway this morning! My efforts are not in vain!:j
I pottered around a bit this morning, got cushion pads in WM and hung out wash from last night which is very productive for me of a morning. I usually barely have time to do ablutions and get dressed let alone do housework!
Hubbles making dinner tonight so I'll do some of today's list while he's in the kitchen and will catch up on the rest over the weekend and may preempt next weeks list by looking for our bedroom floorand sorting wardrobes - depends on the weather though. If it is nice we'll probably take the bikes out for a run (hopefully via allotments to stick in application letter).

It is anaesthetic cream which they put on the children to make them numb in the area they want to take bloods from.. or insert a canula or whatever. mine never have it though they are well 'ard!! lol.. it often causes a reaction and it takes forever to work.. but they have a spray which works almost immediately isn't as much of an irritant and works better apparently but it costs more..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hello everyone and hi to Electra! I have just read the thread through from last night - it moves so fast!
Germish - you are quite correct I was born in 1963!!
lil_me - hope you enjoy your caravaning. I love going to a caravan but the kids hate it and fight even more than normal!
Shell - well done on the weight loss - I lost 3lb this week but I have tons more to lose so it's a drop in the ocean really:rolleyes:
SSL - where abouts in Liverpool are you going? I live about 8 miles north of Liverpool. There is lots going on at the moment!
Yellowmonkey - I am supposed to be doing DD2's room today but just can't face it ATM - it too is awash with Hannah Montana and HSM - and my VERY favourite (not) the Suite Life of Zac and Cody. I don't really like Hannah Montana but it is not half as irritating as Zac and Cody:mad: - DD knows to switch over the channel pdq if she is watching it and I come into the room - I think it is no wonder that kids today have no respect and run wild when programmes like this make it look funny to get the better of adults - oh I'd better shut up because once I start on about this I get in a right bad mood!
Johanne - Even though my youngest is now 10 I so clearly remember what it was like braving those mother and toddler groups - the ones by me were all really cliquey and I always felt like a big spare part whichever one I went to. In the end I got chatting to one of the Mums at nursery one day and she became and still is my best friend. I don't like big groups and am not a "joiner" but it is such a lonely time that I feel for you.
Pigpen - I can't get on with Firefox at all and have gone back to IE.
All you ebayers can you help? I used ebay for yonks and then about 18 months ago my friends teenage son asked if he could list an X-Box 360 (when they first came out and were going for mega bucks) because he had got one for his birthday and wanted to make a bit of a profit. I stupidly said yes and he listed it with a buy it now price of £550. At the same time there was a big scam on ebay with people selling X-Boxes and then sending out boxes with bricks in and so ebay decided that they would suspend all users listing X-Boxes until they sent proof of ownership. I asked him for the receipt and a photo to send in but he had sold it on by then to one of his mates and so couldn't give me either. I told ebay but they just said I was suspended and so I haven't been able to use it since then. Any ideas what I can do - it's a right pain not being able to list stuff any more.Jane

I see - they should invent something like that for leg waxing!
I used to get the anaesthetic jab when I gave blood until one of the nurses told me they didn't give it enough time to take effect before they but the big needle for taking blood in anyway and by the time its time to take it out its worn off so I was getting an extra needle in my arm for no benefit:rotfl:26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Fortunately LO doesnt react to the emla, however you are right pigpen it takes ages to work. I like her to have it though as she has been through so much and if i can take away even the smallest amount of discomfort for her i will. I try my best to make hospital as pain free and non scary for her as i can. She has surgery every 6 months and up til now(touch wood) she isnt scared of the hospital which is a blessing. I cant imagine having to take her if she was scared of it.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Lol, GnB, you just reminded me of when my (twin)boys were little and I had to take them for jabs, the minute we got to the door of the clinic they started screaming soooo loud you'd think it was a torture chamber.
It was so humiliating I refused to go on my own.0 -
