She thought it would be lovely.. nice and quiet and beautiful scenery.. I said she would hate it.. and as usual I was right.. how I hate being right all he time it is so wearing lol. The people are not very sociable and some are outright rude to her and it rains a lot.. and she regrets the move.. she is very alone with her family and just needs human contact I think..I really do feel for her though it can't be easy.

I kind of like the idea of living 'in the country', i am a city girl through and through though. I know what you mean about the rudeness too, if you havent lived there for 30+ years you're not welcome:rolleyes:The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I was on the phone to my dad who's a creepy crawlie expert. He came round to assure me they weren't cockroaches...they're not. OMG, if they had been i'd have moved out immediately!!!! So, we're sat watching the fireplace and all of a sudden a black beetle appears and then we found a soldier beetle. What is going on? I'm sat here glancing at the fireplace every two minutes!!!
I'm wondering if it's anything to do with not having skirting boards!!!! OMG I bet it is. We have a three foot void under the house....I wonder if they're coming from under there. I am getting seriously a bit freaked .... guess what DH is going to have to do this weekend!!! New skirting boards ASAP! xx0 -
~wanders in feebly clutching a tissue and sneezing before flumping down on the chair in front of the computer desk~
I'm still here - still alive - but feel drained and lethargic. Eyes are less gummed up and throat less sore.
Hello new people! ~feeble wave~
I'm currently trying to cook dinner but enthusiasm is so low I do a bit, wander off and then go back and do a bit more. It'll be ready eventually. HM potato wedges and fresh salmon. There may be some veg if I can find the energy to pod the peas and peel some carrots.. ~woe is me~ ~sniffle~
I did, however, not only air my quilt but washed AND line dried it, along with all the bedding which didn't really need doing because it was done last Sat. but I thought what the heck, as the quilt's being done, the rest might as well be.
I have cleaned the computer desk. I have put some stuff up on ebay but that's about it. A written off day. But, I'm feeling a tad better and aim to have an early night. I've promised to chauffeur my nice neighbour to the local airport tomorrow morning on my way to work (she's off to Portugal for a week) so need to be ready to get on the road by 7am tomorrow morning rather than the 7:15 -7:20 that I normally do. That extra 15 minutes in the morning is often really needed!
~sniffles and shuffles off out again stage left - Atishoooo! ~I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Have just done 1/2 hour ironing (still a few of DH work shirts left but hey theres always tomorrow). Bread rolls now out of oven and cooling.
Did trip to Mr T's and along with shopping bought 2 pairs of shoes, the girls some pj's (short & t ones), flip flops for DD2 (so she will break her neck shortly) and DH some shorts (to keep him sweet - hehehe). Shopping put away, hoovered through, meatballs made (yummy!). Cleaned up after tea and thats about it.
Stubbed my toe on the trolley whilst shopping and have bent my nail back to the "live" bit, looked down and I am bleeding - DD2 bursts into tears lol! I tried to explain it was my toe that was hurt and I wasnt crying so she didnt need too - bless her!
I am off to the butterfly park tomorrow along with the rest of the foundation class and other helpers - wish me luck. We have been forecast heavy showers, great fun! Now where are my wellies??0 -

Hello everyone especially newbies.
Had a bit of a wasted day today. Spent hours at the doctors only to be told I am being refered to a knee specialist because my x ray didn't show any problems. Got some codeine for my troubles to try and help with the pain.
Then I popped to town for Fathers Day cards and a few bits and pieces. Came home and had lunch.
Kids have decided they want an 8ft swimming/paddling pool for the summer so I spent the afternoon making space in the garden.
Took DD swimming then went to pick DS up from his school trip, they were delayed so had to come home and go back again.
So I am planning to fly tomorrow.
Pigpen you could have stopped at my SIL house when you go to the Ricoh to see Bon Jovi - she lives about 10 minutes walk from the stadium and I'm sure she wouldn't have minded you and your brood lol.
Have to say I'm jealous - I saw them in MK last year and they were fab. Hope you have a great time.0 -
mudbath - pop them out in the garden, they eat all kinds of nasties! I always like the colour of the violet ground beetles I find on the allotment, and as they scuttle out from the weeds, I carefully transfer them to another bit of the plot!
germish_se - you won't crash and burn, becasue you'll get so hooked on it being clean and tidy, you'll want to keep it that way! I sometimes find myself at work tidying the desk, or thinking I could just whisk over those tables if I brought in a sprayer of Stardrops and a duster..(neither of those things are usually done by a supply teacher!) I have found that the answer for me was to sort out the storage, so that we have enough places to keep the things we want to keep. I'm still working on it, but I'm getting there. If everything has its own place to live, then I don't have to spend so much time relocating and moving piles of stuff before I actually clean. I'm nowwhere near perfect, very far from it, but it's so much better than it was!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
