Beware Ryanair
Comments

I flew with Ryanair from birmingham 3 saturdays ago and all i can say is they were fab, take off both times was bang on time. would certainly book again with them.0

Can you tell me where you found this please?
Thanks - that's all I wanted. Not appreciating the insinuation that I am a little dim. We all have off days!
Regards
I am not suggesting that you are dim. I am just highlighting the fact that Ryanair have set up their booking system for income maximisation. You will find that "extras" are already added and that you have to delete them in order to get the cheapest fares. This can all become a bit of a minefield for some people which is an intentional tactic by Ryanair. So if unsure get somebody who travels with them frequently to help you through the booking process as any errors can be costly.
They have not updated all of the website, so reading through some parts of the site it does seem that online check-in allows you priority boarding.

what we need is a true MSE style guide on how to side step the "income mines" when booking online with Ryan Air.
i may use them in the near future , so was going to ask about the hidden pitfalls when booking nearer the time , as i have seen plenty of posts about the booking computer on this board.
if anyone could collate them all together we could ask to make it a stickyBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
I have flown with Ryanair many, many times. When booking your flight it is a case of buyer beware but they most certainly are not out to 'con' anybody. If you do not read the small-print (which can be confusing at times) it is easy to pay more than you had anticipated - I booked a flight with easyjet the other day where I had to opt out of their insurance, which was automatically added. Had it not been automatically added and anything had happened to our flight I could have blamed them for not offering to me - sometimes they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. However, anyone like me who can remember a return flight to Dublin costing £150+ can see that an airline which offers return flights for 2 pence is not out to scam anyone. They may be arrogant, they may be a little tasteless at times, and their site may be confusing/misleading sometimes but it's a quid pro quo situation - they give us very, very cheap flights and we get to our destination safely!0

Many Thanks again. You've been very helpful. I'm obviously a little sensitive so apologies! It's frustrating because I'm usually on the ball with these things. I'll be more careful next time! grrrrr!
All the best0 -

I think the best advice when booking with Ryanair (or any airline!) is use common sense. Most problems occur because people assume things, and don't actually read what they are agreeing to!Gone ... or have I?0 -
why would you read up on somthing, when the website is saying it is free????????????????????
A mistake on a website is no excuse, if thats what it says it is, thats the way it should be.
I would be bloody annoyed if I booked something that was telling me it was free to find out it isn't. (don't get me started on sky)
instead of telling people they are stupid ryanair correspondence, go away and sort out the site.
I am starting to think this site is advertising ryanairBest Comp wins[/B]: , Holiday to Las Vegas worth £3K, £200 shoes, £130 ASOS voucher, £150 River Island Voucher, £100 Toni & Guy Voucher, £250 Red Letter Day Voucher, Holiday to NYC[/COLOR]0 -
I have said that I would not fly with Ryanair again after a couple of annoying experiencess like being delayed for about 8hrs with no info and when they started adding on all the extras. I have looked at other airlines and no-one else provides as wide a service from the West of Scotland without needing a second mortgage to pay for it. You just need to work out how to avoid the extras.0
