Thanks Martin,
Just sent off for my one after receiving my tart alert.Raymo0 -
Applied.
Note: When applying (following Martin's link) make sure you click the green 'apply' button under the picture of the Barclaycard, NOT the 'apply' link across the top of the page. The first will take you to the specific card, (ie. 0% with no bt fee), the second takes you to a page where you can choose from a range of different cards, NOT including the card without the bt fee.
This may be the reason some people couldn't find the right card.A penny saved is a penny gained0 -
Hi Marigold 123, I clicked the green apply button and filled in the forms, but when I read through the t&cs it says 2% for bt.0

Just applied and ok for me it says....
"0% for 10 months from account opening (with no handling fee) on balance transfers of £5000 or less and 6.9% p.a. on amounts over £5000 for eligible balances transferred within 60 days of account opening.
We will transfer Promotional Balances to the Standard Balance or the Cash Balance (as relevant) at the end of the promotional period"
in my t&C so you might have pressed the wrong button.0 -

I get problems with some sites because I am using a Firefox browser, which doesn't display some higher page functions properly, but which work fine when I switch to IE. I didn't have any difficulty with Firefox this time, so we can probably eliminate that as a cause.A penny saved is a penny gained0 -
Can I ask a really daft question ? I have a golfish card (with my husband as an additional cardholder) which is up to the limit of £10k
If hubby and me both apply for one of these cards. Would be able to transfer 2 lots of 5k from one golfish card to two seperate barclaycards ?There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

Don't worry, there is no such thing as a daft question on here
In short, yes, you can do as many balance transfers as you like to multiple cards to clear the Goldfish balance.
Bear in mind that you may not get the full 5k limit you require on the Barclaycards, it's purely dependent on how well you score with them.0 -
I'm really grateful for the advice above. I really do need to sort out my debts as all I seem to be doing is paying just above the minimum payment and getting absolutely nowhere fast. I know my credit score is clear - managed to get rid of the nasty Halifax Visa bad mark against my name after alot of fighting which messed up our remortgage 2 years ago. Can't wait for July when my 3 year tie in deal is up so I can remortgage with a cheaper mortgage provider and then things will be looking alot more positive.
By my reckoning (please correct me if I'm wrong) if we could get 2 x £5k cards from Barclays and pay £300 a month split between the 2 cards I could get rid of £3k of debt in 10 months. There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

Correct, though you will still have a whopping 7k left at the end of the 10 months which will be charged at 14.9% - so ideally you'll want to switch to another low interest credit card at that point. Interest on 7k at 14.9% is approximately £85 a month!0 -
This is just the offer ive been waiting for. Ive got a cq left for B/Transfers on my mint card from when i first had it and theres no fee on it (ive checked) so i could pay it into my bank (barclays) take out a barclaycard and do a B/Transfer from mint to B/card.
As i have a barclays open plan offsett morgage i will save interest on it for 10 months for the amount of the transfer.
Is there a flaw in my plan?O0
