XL Hunter......... do you have an account with them???????

    I do sir/madam - since 1998 :)
  • I don't have a Barclay's Bank account, applied for the card recommended by Martin, the gave me £4300 credit limit.

Balance transferred £2616 with no problems and no balance transfer fee.

The link dishmop has posted above seems to go to a Barclaycard with a 2.5% handling fee, for non Barclays current account customers.

I can't see that they do a fee free BT for non-customers at all now.

Anyone any ideas of another card I could apply for with no fee and 0%? Already have HSBC which is the other good offer at the moment for card tarts.

Can anyone tell me, in Barclaycard do a credit search when you apply for this card if you already have an account with them?

i've had a look at the different links offered and it seems to me it's not possible to get it without having a barclays account unless anyone knows different?

or....although it states there is a fee maybe it's at their discretion?

i've had cards before where they say there is a BT fee but i haven't been charged!!!

    HAHAHA I WIN!!!

You may recall some time ago I posted saying that even though I knew I had applied for the 10 months 0% BT with NO BT fee, Barclaycard charged me for it.

Well, long story short and all that, a few strongly worded letters threatening further action seem to have worked, partly! They have agreed to refund the money, but still said that there should have been a fee! To be honest, I cant be bothered witht them anymore to take it any further, especially seeing as I have had the money refunded, but guess who wont be dealing with Barclaycard again!

Thanks Martin et al, one nil to the consumer (ish!)

Having logged on to apply for the Barclaycard to take advantage of the fee free BT, when you check the page that says are you eligible it appears to say that you need to have a Barclays ************ to apply for the card. If you haven't and click their link it takes you to a page to choose a card with fees for balance transfers. Or do you just ignore that bit?

Somewhere, in one of the preceding 148 posts, it has been mentioned that this loophole was closed in mid-November. ;)
