Hurrah!!
After emailing Marks travel once more on Tuesday I received a phone call from the Operations manager at Sandals UK on Thursday. She said that my complaint had been passed on to her from Marks Travel/Funway as I booked directly with them on the phone. She advised that there had been about 130 incorrectly priced booking and about thirty people had cancelled and most of the others had accepted a lower room grade or paid the difference. There were a handful of booking left that were still in dispute of which mine was one of them. She said that I could pay some difference with my Sandals select points to make up some of the difference, I said that I had been in touch with a number of people with the same problem and wanted my original booking to be honoured as Marks travel had done the same for others - one lady was booked into the same room grade as me in Antigua for 2 weeks so the difference in her booking was obviously a lot more than mine. I also mentioned that someone else paid the same as me for the same room and had not had their booking queried. With this evidence put to her she agreed that Marks Travel had then set a precedent and she would have to honour my booking too, she was a very nice helpful lady and she admitted that the booking system that they use is the same as the online one is not very good and the offer had been put in quickly and not tested properly . I have now received a letter confirming my total price is the same as booked and they hope this goes some way to restoring my faith in the sandals programme.
