Uswitch Gas & Elec wine switching offer: Are you having problems?

uSwitch and free wine offer - I'm very cross. I went via the MSE link but had problems with their website. I called and they said I could switch vie the 'phone service and still have the MSE wine offer but instead of free wine I got an email voucher for c£60 off a case costing c£120! So I have to find about £60 to pay for their reward! I've sent a complaint as I am furious. I would have gone via SimplySwitch and got c£40 cashback had I known uSwitch were pulling a scam. First time I have used them and probably the last. I have no desire to spend £60 of my own money when I thought I was getting some kind of reward/incentive. Bloody cheek. Also very sad that MSE, so good up to now, is involved in this.0

The free case of wine is only available when you switch online, so I'd really like to look into this and try and find out what has happened. Please could you drop me an email with some more details at the address in my profile?
The voucher you did get is one that we give to all customers when they switch as a thank you. It's not the same as the one we give for the free case.

Thank you dfor your reply, but my problem is that as I was having trouble with the website I called and I specifically calrified with three different representatives that becaise of the problem I was having it would be OK to propceed on the 'phone and still get the offer. Had they said otherwise I admit would not have any grounds for complaint but thwey led me to believe I was getting the offer I expected and I took the word of uSwitch staff and now I am the one suffering the consequences. Where I work if a member of staff makes a public commitment to someone then the organisation accepts responsibility and does something to compensarte for the admin error on our part.
Will uSwitch do the same or will you please cancel my request so I can start again now I know the truth and know I should not believe what I am told by three diofferent uSwitch staff?

In the case of technical difficulties with the website we honour the voucher over the phone.
I've checked with my colleagues who you spoke to and they had put you on the list for a voucher, so you will be getting your free wine
The confusion is because you were also sent a second voucher for a £60 discount with Virgin Wines - we send this to everyone who switches and it can be a little confusing!
I've also dropped you an email with some more details.
Hope this irons everything out.

I feel I need to make a post saying I jumped to an incorrect conclusion and uSwitch have not acted incorrectly in any way during my dealings with them. They have acted correctly and I am the one at fault so they deserve a public apology from me for negative things I said in this forum before I knew the full story. I am waiting for my free wine from Uswitch since November 2010. I have dropped Uswitch an email tonight so hopefully I will get a response. Its a shame when you have to chase up these free offers and they should be provided automatically!0

I switched in June 2010 and gave up chasing for the wine in Dec 2010 because the emails I sent to uswitch just never got replies, so I put it down to a learning experience that even the offers from websites that look trustworthy / big names can be cons. But was I wrong - are people get these sorted out?

I am currently very dissatisfied with the service I have received from uSwitch.
I switched dual fuel in October 2009 via the MSE link, yet still have not received my wine. I have confirmation from a uSwitch representative that I am eligible, and was promised that I would receive the free wine voucher over a month ago, yet I have received nothing. Now my e-mails are being ignored and my calls not replied to.
I am now looking at taking my complaint out of the hands of uSwitch, as I have reached a dead end with them, and I see that many others have had this problem.0 -

I forgot all about the case of wine! We changed just before Christmas. Just checked our deleted emails and saw an email from USWITCH from March, with our redemption details and now have a case of wine on its way to us from VIRGIN Wines.Thanks everyone - a nice surprise today!0
