    Thanks soolin.
I have always thought that if we can prove the payment then ebay will protect. That is why I confidently transferred the money.

I don't think he has posted the item or ever will, because yesterday (3rd June) he has raised an 'Unpaid item dispute' .

P.S: I paid on May 19th. The payment was in his bank account on 23rd May.

    OMG!!
Got his Name and Phone details off ebay. The name is different to the name of bank account holder to which he asked me to transfer the money.

Is that why he has confidently raised 'Unpaid item dispute', because he could say that I never transferred the money to his account? :embarasse

Unfortunately there is a really good chance here that you will lose the NPB dispute as well. This seller is either plain nasty or is being vindictive for a reason.

Put in a counter claim today for non performing seller and explain that you paid by bank transfer and no phone has been received. Also make a complaint about seller refusing paypal, send a copy of the email to ebay and also report the auction . In fact report for every single breach. If you can get this seller struck off at elast they can't add a strike to your account.

Then go back to trying to get your money back, th epolice are now your only option but even they are going to resist helping as bank transfers are difficult due to the fact that you voluntarily sent the money.

Didn't seller confirm receipt of payment in the email? Why is he raising unpaid item dispute?

Without paypal buyer is going to struggle to prove to ebay that he paid, therefore I think this suggests the seller is a nasty vindictive person as well as a scammer.

As the seller asked to take Google Checkout I doubt it was intended to be a Scam.

Google Checkout is a secure payment method for buyers (and much cheaper than Paypal) 1.5% + 15P a transaction...

Chase the seller - you will probably get a response eventually. Maybe they havnt seen the bank transfer on their statement yet.

Dont make any threats until absolutely necessary.

If you read the thread you will see that seller has acknowledged payment and made promises about sending the phone. The fact thta he has acknowledged th epayment and has still opened an NPB does look rather suspicious doesn't it?

Oh - then you probably have been scammed.

As soon as you said can I pay by bank transfer he realised you could be ripped off...

Looks like the seller has advised me to transfer the money to his mates account so that he can clearly say that he didn't receive payment. The ebay registered name and the bank account holder name is different. There is a similarity in the names i.e. they belong to the same ethnic origin.

I have the ebay messages that the did advise me to send money to a certain bank account and confirmed later that he did receive the payment. Will he claim that someone has hacked his ebay account and sent these messages and he cannot be held responsible for this.
