    I've been Money Tipped!
Sadly where I live there is no agency work as with 30 000 students wanting holiday jobs the agencies books are full until sept.

I know i could benefit fromtemp work as I only have had one job in my life.

Even as a disabled person I could sort post or photocopy or all these basic jobs that goes on everywhere.

Studentphil, that is rubbish. I hope you know I'm saying it kindly but firmly. RUBBISH. If there are students hanging around to work there is work. Sure, there may be competition but there is still work. As I'm unclear as to your disabilty or the extent of it I cannot suggest how realistic ou work goals are. I should imagine you are being as negative about the range of jobs you could do as you are other aspects of your life, might that be so? If you can sort post you could probably do light warehouse picking as I described, or example. Not glamourous, but worthwhile (and if you were prepared to work a night shift pleasingly well paid sometimes)

Its Leeds isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong but 30 secs found this:http://www.directories.leedslearning.org/ (the first of many google results)

over 300 agencies in Leeds on this list (and very few lists are comprehensive). If I were in your shoes I would apply to 10 today. Fo a start.

re applications, I agree to have a template of personal things, but in a sense you are right, each one should be geared towards the particualar application. My DH was very slow at thsis too, he did about 5 a day but if left alone with no nagging could easily poor over one for two days. I'm araid I stepped in and 'helped' and he managed to get ten good applications done a day. (resulting in many many interviews!)

well.....thats getting better SP. Do you have a good friend or family member (or carer?) who you can ask to help inspire you and set targets.

Does you mother cook for you? Maybe she give you your favourite stuff only if you complete x amount of applications?

(yes, I now this is treating you a bit like a child, but I think there are times a carrot and stick method helps, I use it on myself and DH, rofl)

I can't apply for internal vancancies as I am leaving.

    No jobs paper or agencies

But I am writing another application this morning.

OK, I'm not sure that you will be barred from internal vacancies because you are leaving. When do you finish?

    However:

http://jobs.leeds.gov.uk/Jobs.aspx?Ssimple=&SSectors=-1&SSalary=-1&STerm=&Sdepartment_id=-1&SLocations=-1&SSchools=&SSubjects=&o= (91 jobs advertised in total)
    http://jobs.leeds.gov.uk/jobdetails.aspx/3131/AdministrativeAssistantDisabilityServicesTeamWestArea Would this suit you?

It is pointless me going for admin jobs as I have never worked in an office (apart from for 2 months).

My first job after college was an admin job, it doesn't necessarily require any experience - just a willingness to do some dirty work!

It is pointless me going for admin jobs as I have never worked in an office (apart from for 2 months).

Most of the people I know who work in admin had 0months experience at the start - they're not always that fussy, so I think you have a headstart here.

And if you don't like writing applications, just apply through agencies - I never touched an application form last time I moved jobs...

But all those students competeing with you for short term or graduate admin jobs won't have ANY experience, so two months is a good head start (but I am now confused as I thought this job had been your first.)

Why is it pointless? My student son got a temp job last summer with Leeds Crown Prosecution Service - the only office experience he had was 2 weeks work experience at school about 5 years ago! You have customer service experience, you have administrative experience, you have keyboard skills!

I'm sorry to be blunt, but you will never get anywhere with that attitude - you have to try & build on that experience...and if you are disabled, then maybe you are the right person for this role as you will have experiences that I would not that you can bring to the job, despite my 24 years of office experience.

I have had this job and it is is my first proper proper job. But I got a short term internal vacancy where I work now and I got 2 months experience from that.
