No, not your lack of experience sp, that's what we keep saying, its a matter of getting a good application together, selling yourself and increasing the number of applications.

I'm proud of you for the applications to library and the one yesterday.

What are you applying to today?

What I used to do was put when I received or downloaded an application pack, they went in a pile with the closest closing date on the top, and work through them. I had varying personal statements & cover letters in Word on my PC, along with copies / prints of other forms and a copy of my CV, so I had all the relevant information close to hand.

I used to spend a couple of hours a night after my unhappy job looking for & applying for jobs, which resulted in the 4 interviews & 1 job offer after 30odd applications. This was last April/May, and I started this job on 18 June last year.

It is hard work, and it can be soul destrying at times, but you WILL get there, even if we have to drag you! :D

I have found that I can copy and paste a lot of stuff from application to application.

    Well done on finding something.

Well the way you are going, we will be proud of you fairly soon ;)

And we ARE proud, as you've taken on board all the advice / support / encouraging / nagging / pushing (delete as applicable) that has been coming from your fellow MSE'ers :D

    Okay, thanks.

But a job application or even an interview means nothing until you have the job.

Thank you - I had to, as like most people I have bills to pay and also 2 student sons to support at uni, but unlike you I chose to leave my last job. It is harder when there is a deadline.

Did you think about trying any of the agencies? Hays have been pretty good with my son in Leeds...I think you have to make an appointment to register.

Nah, proud of you for pulling your finger out and trying already, sorry ;) when you get the new job you can buy us all a drink, eh? (joking, don't panic)

The applications are giving you experience inthemselves: you are learning to be self motivating, anticipate deadlines, present a high standard (we hope)of literacy. :T

    Thanks everyone!

At least this job I applied for last night I can meet all the requirements and experience and it is no shot in the dark.
