Good, now we all know you will get a job and can then concentrate on doing some personal stuff for yourself in your free time. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

By the way Phil - I do not have a degree, I have 4 GCE's & 1 A level (grade E general studies
). I do not have any formal training in anything & I have no other qualifications. I do not have my ECDL - despite it being an essential qualification for my position - but I have the experience of 24yrs in administration, both public & private sector - starting as a temp clerical assistant (lowest of the low in civil service) at 19, through numerous part-time & temporary & jobs, to my current position as a secretary within my local council.
You have 2 months office experience, + 9 months library / customer service / customer facing experience. That is more than most new graduates will have.
You know your way around a photocopier, you can make & transfer phone calls, you can navigate the intranet at work to find out information, you are not frightened of meeting new people, you have learnt new skills to manage the library IT system, you have worked as part of a team. This is what people are looking for when they ask for experience.0 -

Well technically you DO have a choice, but you know we'll all nag you if you don't make the RIGHT choice!

Willingness to help is another good thing.....as is being hard working.
Go & apply for the other library posts, you've got the experience - one is another temp (maternity cover) 17hr, the other is 14.25hr but I think it is permanent......and when you are in there you can do the internal vacancy thing

I love hearing you be so positive!
So what are you going to do this afternoon? Doesn't have to be anything major, just something that you can reflect and say 'I had a constructive day today'.
(Spending the afternoon on here is not constructive! Even I am switching off while working this afternoon!

I am putting the finishing touches to a job application and hopefully emailing it off before tomorrow.:beer:0 -

Make that definitely emailing it off and I will be very, very impressed.
That is the one thing that you have to do tonight before you go to bed. You can do it.
Now go finish!

Just try not to do what I did in an interview today .... I used the word "pants" meaning "not good"

I suck at interviews. Brilliant at my job, but suck at interviews.
So, TOP TIP: Don't say pants in interviews. Really.0
