Welcome BUBBS - glad you could join us.

CHALKY - I'm well impressed that you are knitting and typing at the same time! A true Wooligan!

Well, I've been bogged down with paperwork - b****y HMRC is all I can say; they don't know their a*** from their elbow but I think I have sorted out THEIR mistake! When you phone them they love to give you the 0845 numbers - they have no idea I go straight to saynoto0870.com and find the geographical number! Anyway, all the typing has given me a bit of a thick head.

I have just put the spuds on for the Shepherd's Pie and will put the mince on in a mo.

The rain has not stopped all day despite the fact that they said it would be nice by this evening; well, they haven't got long to be proved right. I've hated having to have the lamps on early but everything seems so dark. Let's hope it's better for all of us tomorrow.

I haven't really read the thread properly so I've not caught up with any news. I'll be able to read it later.

    See you all.

    Hi everyone

Back on line without worrying about the cost/time factor. 15€ a month for dial up connection, I think we get it very cheap at home, but at least I can switch it off when I am not here. Our new neighbours have just got a bband wireless router, so may investigate sharing the cost of that with them.

Welcome Newbies, (((Hugs))), smoky, Pen-pin, and all others who need one. I will try to read back and catch up a little.

Off to the Chinese tonight with our new neighbours.

Thanks for the wave Anniestar - thought I'd been forgotten - lol

    Big Wave to everyone else.

Hi Everyone - Like Essex girl, I feel it's been a long day! Glad your OH has only to have the one op though - and hope the wait is only a couple of weeks.
Mine visited the department of nuclear medicine - which made my eyes open a bit!!! Anyway, an injection plus a couple of scans ( and eating a fatty meal as part of it) and that was an afternoon taken up. In fact we were seen before the time of the appointment, the hanging around is for the injection to take effect. He has to go back again to repeat the procedure on Thursday, but as he felt no ill effects they've said he can go alone, so it's school for me! Anyone able to tell us why he had to avoid vanilla (as well as any caffeine) for 24 hours????
Many thanks to everyone for your good wishes - you are such a great, supportive bunch! Very much appreciated.

well I haven't made it over the door step today, haven't done any chores (apart from one load of washing and some cooking)
however I have been saving money. sorted out some new house insurance and managed to half the quote!! sorted out hire car for holiday (saved 20%) and got some quidco too! have been trawling the sites for airport parking and airport hotels (think I have got a good deal now, but it has taken a while)
found out how many shares we got in our dividend payout, did some online banking, helped a colleague with an essay.....where did the rest of the day go?
also heard sadly about an old colleague's death. same age as me....makes you think doesnt it. live for today who know's what tomorrow will bring.

edit....just noticed my joining date.....4 years I've been here!! where did it go...why am I not rich yet :)

My advice - don't bother with growbags ;) The soil is too shallow and I ended up watering them constantly. Use that compost (or a bag of compost) and plant your tomatoes into the ground or, as Pink says, into pots.

Get yourself onto the Greenfingered board for more help :j :T

Very wet day here. I wasn't able to cycle into w*** so I'm a bit out of sorts. However, I'm about to knock off, so it's the weekend :j :j :j :j Excellent forecast for the rest of the week, and my chiminea should arrive tomorrow :T I'm planning lots of cycling, running and gardening :T

    See you all later.

Well - the girls weren't that sensible. The friend's nana was visiting so she stood outside the door and waited for them - they arrived safely but coming from the wrong direction - it seems they had a little wander around the estate first - there have been words!!!

Wel done Aussie for only losing your brolly - I think we should let you out a bit more often
good luck with your grandma vickyA

Had my favouritest judge today so that was good but something omplicated blew up as I was leaving - some kind of legal emergency with some practical difficulties. I had to phone another department to speak to the person who had initiated the enquiry and was asked what grade I am as the person I was asking for is very high up!!!!. i explained that, though of lowly grade, I was the only person who was right now taking off her coat in order to sort things out everyone else having beggared off, I was also the person who was now going to have to work another hour to sort things out and the person who was probably not going to get any credit if it did get sorted out ..... but I was more than happy to leave it till the morning if she preferred - she didn't.

drownded myself and my phone cylcing to w*rk so have had to buy a new one while the other is in bits on the radiator - apart from that just the same old same old
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Evening gang.....I've jetted in from Faro and my first web stop was MSE.

For once, the weather was OK when we landed, so I didn't look too much of a Twit in my white shorts and sandals. (I was wearing a top also) We had a bit of mixed bag weather wise, but the food was lovely. :D

Hugs to all those with hosp appts and also the poorly ones.

Love to all, The Twit :grouphug:
