Hi all - I'm back here with a cup of coffee and some time to spare. I needed milk so I braved the weather; it has not stopped raining since late last night. They'd better not mention a hose pipe ban as soon as we have had a week of sunshine!

BETH - take care with that bandaged arm - you really should be resting it but you know that, don't you? I can't blame you for wanting to get the house finished, though. How is your friend and, also, how is your brother?

SMOKY - it was lovely to read your post - your garden is going to look fantastic; please post some pics when you have finished. (((Hugs))) to you and the LOs.

    (((Hugs))) to Mrs Mix

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

We are having Shepherd's Pie for dinner and I've already prepped the veggies for that; I also picked up a huge fresh pineapple for 66p in the Co-op so that will do for pudding for a couple of days. That's just been sliced into wedges. I have some ironing to - I should have done it on Sunday, then yesterday and now, of course, it's a bigger pile! Still, I shall watch last week's River Cottage while I do it so that should help.

Anyway, I have to make a few phone calls so I'd better go. Hope everyone is having a good day despite the rotten weather.

    See you all later.

    Hello everyone,

Well I will no longer be able to call Marie, MeanieMarie :D as she's very nice and not at all mean.;) We had a lovely long lunch (which she shouted me :D) told you she wasn't mean, and strolled around the Mall. I showed her a good souveniour shop and she shopped to her hearts content. I bought an umbrella as I left my good one on the bus. Got home at 6.30pm. Ive just had tea and done DH pack up. Plans for tonight - early night. ;)

The weather although a bit overcast, wasn't wet. We even had sunshine for a little bit this arv. More than you by the sounds of it. :D I'm a bit too weary tonight for chit chat so I'll give a collective hug & hope you all enjoy your day as much as I have. :D Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi again

Not a bad morning. HT thinks I'm more competent than I do so form has now been filled in. :j Good news at surgery - my blood tests came back normal and my weight has maintained (rather than gone up as I thought). Have to lose 4lbs in 4 weeks for my next visit. Should manage that nooooooo problem (well, it's easy when you have to shift as much as I do. :o )

Banana & choc chip muffins in the oven with a pear and apple crumble on the top shelf to get my money's worth. (Just realised that looks soooo bad after what I just said above - I won't be eating any of this stuff. The muffins will be frozen and DS and DD will have the crumble for pudding tonight) About to start the chilli that DS and I will have for dinner tonight. DD is having a pasta dish that she dug out of the freezer yesterday.

Found about 12 onions at the back of a cupboard - half of them had *seriously* sprouted so I have binned them. but I didn't like the look of them. Going to cut the rest up and freeze them.

Can't decide what to have for lunch so need to go browse the f/f and cupboards.

twink good luck with the mammogram - let's hope you get a nurse that knows what she is doing.
aussie glad you had a good time with meanmarie. Haven't had her report yet, mind. ;):p

Need some tea so I'm off. xx

    Afternoon all

Another miserable day here, whatever happened to Flaming June???? It's Flaming Horrible I know that much

Have hoovered, polished through and cleaned the bathroom to within an inch of their lives and I now have some muffins in the oven, half cinnamon and half chocolate. Am going to start on the shepherds pie for dinner after they have cooked. Be glad to get back to work tomorrow for a rest. Boss is away on holiday so while the cat's away.......................;)

Just got a card delivered from moonpig that I personalised for hubby for our anniversary next week. It's a funny one so I hope he appreciates it!!

Right, lets go and check those cakes - have a good day everyone :hello:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Back from my visit to friend and dr, friend is still very poorly and to be honest there really isn't much room for a stairlift in her house so don't know what can be done  I do worry about her as she has so many health problems.

Dr visit went ok but I do now have to moniter my blood pressure as it is a bit high, hopefully it is just down to stress but as my older sister has high blood pressure it has to be checked out.. I have a tub of flora pro active spread and am eating healthily though, promise!:o

I popped into our local mill shop on the way back and bought some organic wm pln and sr flour and some more yeast and a huge bag of porridge oats so will have to start some healthy baking.for the pack ups.

Wish the sun would come out!

    Catz x

Pouring with rain and very gloomy looking.

Have spent the last few days doing battle with DDs student loan forms, and passport renewals for me DH and DD(14)!.

Have some lentil soup left from yesterday and making Jersey Royals, spicy turkey and pan fried cabbage with onion and apple for tea.

As I thought I deserved a treat bought some pretty teacups and saucers from the charity shop that I have been looking at for days!

Idly wondered what they would cost to buy anywhere else and had a look on the web but as they are Queens bone china and an Old Lace pattern I cannot find them anywhere.

Hugs to smokey, Jayward, essex girls DH,Pennypincher,Mrs mix, candygirl and everyone else who could use one!

Going to have a cup of coffee and try to look as if I have been slaving over a hot stove when DD gets back from school!;)
