i have the new version of excell, 07
macros arent enabled, i eventually found the macros menu but for the life of me i cant see an option to enable macros
Click the Office icon (the big Circle), then Excel Options - Trust Centre - Trust Centre Settings - Macro Settings and then probably 'Trust access to the VBA project object model'.

Sorry if this is an obvious question but are you clicking the menu buttons on the right of the intro page? i.e. Expenditure, Income, View Results, etc.

When I enter an amount on the spreadsheet, a pound mark appears. Is there a way to globally change the pound sign to a dollar sign?

I have got a computer with windows vista and ms office enterprise 2007 and when I try to download this it says that there is an error and that it is not a valid Win32 Application.

I have no idea what that means. Can anybody help?

Have you downloaded the budget.zip file and extracted the budget.xls excel spreadsheet to a directory on your computer?

There have been a few posts asking how to get the spreadsheet working correctly in OpenOffice. The problem is that most versions of OpenOffice do not allowing Excel VBA macros to run.

Novell have now written a version that allows Excel VBA macros to run natively within OpenOffice.

I have it installed and all the macros appear to work.

The Novell version can be downloaded here

    http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=90Jv0byQWIU~

You will need to register to login to the site, but it is free.

Hope this helps some of you.

Hi I'm using Open Office 2.2 on a Mac and cannot download the budget planner. The link posted earlier this year as above is no longer valid. Has anyone got any suggestions?
  • Will the budget spreadsheet work fully with OpenOffice ?

    Thanks

  • Hello,
I live in the US and have downloaded your spreadsheet. I didn't realize at first this was a UK site.
After a quick look at some of the fields, I see UK-related calculations - tax, totals in pounds etc.
Will this spreadsheet be moot if I try to use it for my US dollars or can I convert it in some way?
    Thanks,
    KatyG
