  • There have been a few posts asking how to get the spreadsheet working correctly in OpenOffice. The problem is that most versions of OpenOffice do not allowing Excel VBA macros to run.

Novell have now written a version that allows Excel VBA macros to run natively within OpenOffice.

I have it installed and all the macros appear to work.

The Novell version can be downloaded here

    http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=90Jv0byQWIU~

You will need to register to login to the site, but it is free.

Hope this helps some of you.
  • Hi

I have an Excel programme but once downloaded can't open the budget planner, no difficulty if I save to Online version. Any ideas.
  • Well I thought I would give it a go with my macro setting low on excel I down loaded The Free Budget Planner.
Aarmed with my bank statements. Within 20 min’s I had a good idea of where we stand with our finances.
(It ant good) BUT thanks to the budget planner I can make changes where needed.
    Awesome thanks a million.

  • The spreadsheet is great and has helped us to improve our budgeting. Thanks to Tony.
I would like to be able to add a comments box to the cells so I can more detail. The workbook is password protected would it be possible to have the password to unprotect it?

Thanks for that, but the file you need to download is over 400mb in size, and as I don't have broadband, it estimates it'll take between 22 and 58 hours to download :rotfl: :rotfl: maybe I wont be downloading that then which is a shame as I really wanted to utilize the budgeting spreadsheet. If any1 has any ideas, please pm me lol
  • We're trying to complete the Budget spreadsheet and have a #REf error
in Expenditure under Transport & Travel Part B column, petrol/diesel row which we cannot access because of password protection. Changing Part a on row from wkly to mnthly doesn't make a difference either.

Tech stuff - on Vista using Excel 2007 - has anyone else had this problem or can advise on how to fix it?

This is the last machine we've got to try this on because it wouldn't work on iMac with OpenOffice (previous fix suggestion was for MSPC)

    TIA
