Hi Kennyparkroad and welcome! I would definitely echo that you are not eating enough - I know this sounds strange but losing weight too quickly is not good for you and you are far more likely to put it back on in the future. For a man of your height with the exercise you do, your intake ought to be higher I would say. Someone will definitely advise you with accurate stats soon. That's not to take away from what you've achieved so far of course, it's just that losing weight needs to be a healthy process. Stick around and we can help you!The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

phew finally caught up.
i can still do forward rolls, taught my iece and nephew how last summer. dont believe i could ever do the crab. now i want to go outside and play but i have nowhere to do so.
all this talk of farts reminds me of a time back in the day when iw as a wee teenager. 2 of my best friends were boys and one let rip one day. he then asked me why do girls never fart and when reassured that we do was suitably shocked, even more so when i told him i always won the farting competitions lol
its a gloriously sunny day here. hope it lasts.0 -

i think i am hitting the 1200, as my breakfast averages about 200, lunch about 250 and then my dinner is about well actually its between 350-500 the meals, so maybe your right, maybe im not hitting my 1200, but ive lost a stone in a month with that and exercise............ do i really want to mess with that method? (also my cups of tea and milk too, semi skilled milk) but thanks will look at the link you provided.
i should mention that im 6 foot 2 and now 14 stone, which gave me the BMI of 25.19 which is just in the overweight category..........
kennyparkroad,
I'm certain your calorie intake is not enough (given your age, the fact that you are male, and your height).
Eating the correct amound of calories (to lose weight), drinking lots of water (as you are) combined with exercise is the key way to lose weight - and - more importantly - keep it off!
I'd def recommend a review of your calorie intake - it will benefit you in the long run!
Good luck,

Well said bails - I just noticed we were posting pretty much the same thing at almost the same time!"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0

hi there.
thanks to everyone who has replied.
going to take a look at the website now to see what my calorie needs "should be"
but again ive been using a method thats working, why would i want to risk it?
ok looked at the website.
i have taken my
height - 6ft 2 inches.
weight - 196pounds
age - 25
You have a BMR of 2056.88
then x1.2
= 2468.256
i wasnt eating this many calories (and it says that to maintain) and i was putting on weight.
so by that method i should be eating 1450-1500 calories a day (taking away no more than 1000) to help me effectively lose weight?
so what difference would the extra decrease in 200 make?
im not planning on losing and then giving up my eating habits and exercise, i am not on a diet but a lifestyle change thats much needed.
thanks all for help and suggestions - more always welcome!0 -

Anyway of changing the exercise, your body will get used the 30 mins on bike etc and it's not as effective. I think you should do a different routine every 6 weeks (going on my gym review dates) and then switch back after another 6 weeks. To keep your body on it's toes.
yeah i have gradually increased the intensity on the bike (it has 9 settings) ive done a few at one, and a few at 2, now i try to do 20mins on 2 and 10 mins on 3, still a bit of a killer though.
that count?
plus im going to try the 2 mins normal 30 seconds going for it during the last 10-15 mins of my workout. (probably 10 to start with)0 -
just been
so feel very:A . Only 4 of us in the pool for the last 15 mins so bliss. Seems to have losened up my very stiff knee too:j .
Annie - many congrat on achieving your 10% milestone though sorry you're feeling rough today.
welcome to kenny - others more in the know than me have offered ideas and advice. I understand why you wouldn't want to change a winning formula - but did you say you were finding it hard to get the next 1/2 stone off? Maybe you just need to tweak what you're eating now. Sometimes a change in pattern, be it food or exercise can reshake your body up and start losing again. Definitely don't eat less though. (I also think you are not eating enough but you'll have to experiement with that one.)
Good luck with the hops victory - makes me realise I am very lucky to live 5 mins walk from my hopsitl and 'blood letting' dept.
Great loss raph - :T for hitting your June target. Next xmas you're gonna be debt free and out of the obese category.
Ajax - I think you were right to take time out yesterday to chill with Mrs A. I'm sure this will be a case of quick on and not too long off. My OH had a 'day off' on friday and put on 4lbs and is back on plan to get that off this week.
Missyg, bit of a gain.. it's all the fault of the milkybar incident! Sorry, half a milky bar:D . Still I know you love a challenge and a bit of a number chrunch so it's not all bad news:D .
beanie - what are oreos so I know how to avoid the dark alley's where they loiter?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hello, I'm not sure if this is in the right place, so if there's somewhere more appropriate, please feel free to move it or ask me to post somewhere else.
I'm starting the Atkins diet to lose a stone or so, and wondering if anyone has any tips on how to keep it cheap? I can see it being quite expensive - lots of meat! - so has anyone done it and kept cost down to a minimum?
Any ideas gratefully received and thanks for reading :j******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
