fart jokes/stories NEVER stop being funny. Anyone who acts disgusted is just weird. It tends to be pooooooo stories at re-enactment events. I think it's the fact that you're all using portaloos and are that bit closer to nature anyway. In fact, here's a fart story to keep you all entertained . . . .

Goose was luscious but incredibly expensive for the amount of meat i got off it. I got a couple of tubs of fat off it too to keep OH in roast potatoes for a while. Unfortunately the calorie counting crippled me yesterday. I knew i was pushing it, trying to have just breakfast and the roast dinner - which wasn't ready till 1800. I got so hungry i crashed out in the afternoon and ate everything that wasn't nailed down. I haven't dared total up what i ate but shall do the day one thing for today. hope everything goes okay victory!

hi guys, i hope its ok to post here.

i am 25, gay, and have been in an on off relationship for 5 years, we broke up at Xmas there for 2 months i gained weight, i then couldnt afford to eat (not joking) and then went down to 14 stone, since he has been back at the start of February
i started eating what i thought was normally again and i weighed 15 stone about a month ago.

since then i have had the following.

bowl of shredded wheat (or bitesize with fruit) or that Multigrain (is it finesse?) cereal for breakfast.

1 meduim sized roll (white) with salad for lunch (or sometimes i do cheat and have a tuna mayo roll, but ive only done that once in a month)

and then my dinner which is usually now chicken fillets and salad or those "Asda good for you meals" (again cheated on Saturday and had a takeaway pizza which upset my stomach lots yesterday!)

and thats all ive been having, (but im pretty sure ive been hitting the 1200 calories)

i drink between 1 and 2 litres of water a day (with 2 cups of tea in the morning it must be said)

i have also added 30 mins on the exercise bike on Mondays/Wednesdays/Friday nights and for the past week added light weights on a tuesday and thursday night and Sunday night (following the plan that came with the weights)

and i am now! 14 stone! with a loss of nearly a stone!

i am definately not as hungry as i was and i love my salad rolls etc.

but i would like to lose another half a stone, but its slow progress, i still have quite a big beer belly (which is my problem area) but it doesnt seem to be shifting

    i am doing everything right

is there anything else i can do to work my stomach? (hate sit ups they hurt my back)

    thanks guys

EDIT - i should point out that on Friday nights i do tend to have a lot of beer - between 6 and 10 cans............ i know i should cut down, but it just didnt happen this week!

    Welcome to the forum kennyparkroad!

I am no expert in these matters (I'm a fairly new member to this forum) however I suspect you may continue to be overweight from undereating on your current diet. Not eating enough calories can lead to your body going into a "famine" mode and was storing everything you feed it.

Suggs has some great links on his first post in this forum including the "calorie intake to lose weight calculator" - I recommend that you take a look at it: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/calorie-intake-to-lose-weight.php

As for the beer belly - sorry I can't help you on that one but I'm sure that some of the other members will have some great tips for you.

Best of luck with your weight loss - please post regularly to let us know how you are getting on!

    Hey Kenny, welcome.
Are you doing any exercise? I lost a stone by changing my diet, but then the loss trailed off. I joined the gym and have lost 2 stone since christmas.
I don't count calories, so don't know if 1200 is too little? But more knowledgable peeps will advise soon.

WI today and I have lost 3.8 lbs!! Just 1.4 lbs off 14 stone so I'm going to say I've reached my June target!! :D I'm going to keep the momentum going and look forward to the next target ~ 12 stone (168 lbs) by Christmas, which would also take me out of the 'obese' group, and into the 'overweight' group :D

    hi pinklipgloss

i think i am hitting the 1200, as my breakfast averages about 200, lunch about 250 and then my dinner is about well actually its between 350-500 the meals, so maybe your right, maybe im not hitting my 1200, but ive lost a stone in a month with that and exercise............ do i really want to mess with that method? (also my cups of tea and milk too, semi skilled milk) but thanks will look at the link you provided.

raphael yeah i am doing exercise (quoted from my original post)

i have also added 30 mins on the exercise bike on Mondays/Wednesdays/Friday nights and for the past week added light weights on a tuesday and thursday night and Sunday night (following the plan that came with the weights)

i should mention that im 6 foot 2 and now 14 stone, which gave me the BMI of 25.19 which is just in the overweight category..........

Oops sorry! Didn't see that!! :o
Anyway of changing the exercise, your body will get used the 30 mins on bike etc and it's not as effective. I think you should do a different routine every 6 weeks (going on my gym review dates) and then switch back after another 6 weeks. To keep your body on it's toes.

Hi Kenny - not eating enough calories can result in your weight staying the same as the body goes into famine mode and hangs onto as much fat as it can. There's a good website HERE where you can work out how many calories you need based on your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).

    Hope that helps.
