    Hello

Just posting in with a mid week weigh in, as I have been very good.

Delighted to report that I am now under 100Kg (15St 10), my midway target to getting under 200lbs (14st4).

Just been a bit more focussed this week on not eating biccies or carbs. have decided to keep to cereal in the morning - can't do protein shake any more - yugghhhh!

glad everyone seems to be in a sunny day mood. scant consolation but an overrunning meeting with some visitors from the big smoke meant I missed the bus for a works pub crawl, so no beer, but no headache and no beer gut
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

    Hi all,

A quick congrats to all the losers

and a BIG hello to all the newbies.

I went back to RC for the first time in 3 weeks last night and I wasn't as disappointed as I thought I would be. I have Gained 1lb:o.

I have struggled immensley with dieting recently and need a kick up the you know what to get me going again. I have 2 weeks until I go to see my sister in Holland so that is I hope an incentive as I'm going to be slimmer than her for many years.(Sounds like I'm gloating ,but I'm not I.m just dead chufed to have got this far)

I've also booked to go to the Rosemary Conley roadshow in Hastings at the end of the month, and have bought myself some sports leggings to wear instead of my old faithful joggers!

This week I'll be back to the fat attack fortnight so will see how that goes.

    catch you all soon

okay, day 2 of calorie/fat counting. Can see what people mean about having to plan things but yeesh! it's an AWFUL lot of work. I think I revise my original estimate to weeks and then see if i'm desperate to get back on sw. IT's amaszing how different things can be. I've made a lamb moussaka tongiht which would be free on red, counting cheese as a HEA - so i could keep eating it. Calorie counting means it's about 500kcal per portion and about 20g fat

It was about this time last year that I decided to try following SW and check the calories at the same time, and I was horrified at how many calories there were in meals that I'd been eating regularly (all free or very low syn on SW). A prime example being vegetable curry from the recipe thread - it's full of high carb ingredients such as pulses and potatoes, so the calories stack up. It is surprising that SW works, given that, and I can only think it's down to having lots of carbs some days and lots of protein on others.

i've been known to wear stockings under jeans lois - I hate sock marks, and i hate tights . . . . . no other option really!

My corset arrived today off ebay for my saloon girl outfit. I should have thought more about ordering something that was coming from hong kong, land of teeny tiny women. It's an extra large and i can fasten the bottom 3 hooks and the top hook. Should give everyone a shock come july at any rate!

i'm finding huge plusses and minuses with this calorie thing. I've reined in today and addressed where i went over in the past couple of days - which is something I didn't do on sw - day one is all very well, but have day one every 3 days and its a hiding to nothing. I also find that i'm less likely to bend the rules to make something fit - cos there's nowhere to bend! On the one hand, I like being able to pick something up for lunch or whatever and just be able to look at the back of the pack to decide whether or not it fits. On the other, it's a real pain for scratch cooking - I'm listing ingredients and then having to look up fat and cals for everything, then add it up and split by the portion number - I can see how it would eventually get easier (thanks missy) but I'm a real experimental cook and it's a pain to have to go into this much detail when menu planning. I think the tesco thing will get knocked on the head - it's a great idea, but there just aren't enough products in their database - even their own label stuff. It is quite good for calorie references though!

go mark - thats a big milestone for you isn't it?

am slightly worried about OH too. I popped into a shop today and bought some fishnet holdups ( for the saloon girl cost. . . . oh too late. Ajax appears to doing his sp£"^y spaniel impression on the desk leg). I was offered buy one get one half price. My first thought was 'great, OH can have a pair'. I got home and announced I'd got him a pair of fishnet holdups. He was pleased and said it saved him a job. Did i mention that he's going as a saloon girl too?

 OK I braved the scales this morning, and I have managed to Gain 8lbsin 2 weeks arrrggghhhh:eek: . Its all OK though, I deserve it because I was pretty bad while visiting! Back on low carb tomorrow and I know a lot will come off in the next few days. I think carbs soak up lots of water which accounts for the big gain/loss when switching on/off.

Hello to everyone - new and old!

missyg I know it was a while back, but your doctor's comment - toned and athletic if I remember rightly - has just stuck in my head. I would love someone to describe me like that. I think what really made it stick is the fact that you have only just started running. I guess a part of me has always associated fitness with running, and since I don't think I was ever built to run (and its completely out of the question for the moment), that part of me believed that I couldn't achieve true fitness, but your doctor's comment has made me think that it could be possible for me after all. Strange how the mind works! Did that make any sense or am I just rambling? I'm sorry if I am. Rambling that is! Ok now I know I am.

Starlight Thankyou thankyou thankyou for your post. (I can't remember if I thanked you befor but I wanted to make sure I did). I just hope I have half your will and determination.
