Eventually got to bed about 4am
FFM, sounds like a good plan re:the holiday. At least you can enjoy all those guilty pleasures when you know you've been good
Going to skip the gym today, my back and tummy are aching from all the new weights I did yesterday.

Hi - I am feeling a little below par today - may have had one glass of champagne too many last night.... my philosophy these days is as I don't drink very often I may as well drink what I really like when I do!!:j :j
The planning ahead on my cooking seemed to pay off - I resisted hubbies pain au chocolat pudding (640 calories!!) and just had some strawberries:T :T
We have spent an exciting morning watching a large tree being chopped down in next door's garden - half of it fell down last week onto their house whilst we were away (if it had gone the other way it would have gone into our new contemporary VERY expensive extension we had done last year)!!!
LL and Lemon Drop - Iknow what you mean - I was coasting along happilly on Becotide twice a day and the odd puff of Ventolin, but after the holiday and passive smoking I was using the V 3-4 times a day and wheezing at night... My nurse put me on Serovent which is a slow release reliever, twice a day, and I am down to no V at all, but still very wheezy for the smallest reason. Let's just hope this season finishes soon!!;)
Raph - yes - the asthma does get better as you lose weight and get fitter, but I am quite fit anyway. The only thing is that no matter how fit you are if you are having an 'episode' it really gets in the way!
BTW in last nights dinner I did savoy cabbage stir fried in low fat butter - it was beyond yummy!
FFM - it is so hard reading about your struggles - we think the hard work is losing it but then there is another battle when we get there?
It is a bit like being an alcoholic, but they can avoid and stop their addiction, as a food addict we still need to eat our 'fix' to stay alive - it is so much harder to moderate than stop I think!!
Suggs - a bit belated but amazingly well done on getting below 100kgs!
More later
Lesley xNO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0 -
Hope Tagz's race for life went OK
Was someone else doing it today too, or am I thinking of Lesley who I know is doing it next week?
OK bit earlier than usual but here are my 'scores' this week:
Mon - 1641 cal 20% brekkie - 80 min light exercise
Tue - 1507 cal 31% brekkie - 90 min moderate/hard exercise
Wed - 1463 cal 24% brekkie - 120 min moderate exercise
Thu - 1226 cal 36% brekkie - 30 min light exercise
Fri - 1600 cal 33% brekkie - 120 min moderate/hard exercise
Sat - 1241 cal 22% brekkie - 140 min very light exercise
Sun - 1250 cal 42% brekkie - 30 min light exercise
Average cals 1418/day, and just over 10 hours exercise for the week so we'll call it moderate activity which means I'm theoretically on pace for a loss of just over 1lb... very unlikely judging by the scales the last couple of days and I think I am going to have a small gain like last week.
No real conclusions on the breakfast experiment but I am still feeling great so I'm inclined to carry it on!0 -
wow you lot are super fit
I have lost another 1lb this week so that makes 7lb in 2 weeks.
I am going out biking only about 30 odd miles a week but its better than nothing and i am now trying to walk a bit more.
I am thinking i would like a cross trainer and treadmill has anyone got this

and can tell me if its good value0 -
how's the head this morning raph?:rotfl:
It would be facinating to know if it was the breakfasts giving you an extra boost missy - but definitely worth keeping up in the meantime as you say.
Lesley - there is no doubt maintaining is it's own journey. it really helps belonging the group though. And as maintianers, as with the still losingers, everyone is different. It certainly needs working at but I couldn't possibly compare myself to an addict when it comes to food, so perhaps this won't be how it is for you either? I guess it depends on your relationship with food and we all got to the point of needing to lose weight for different reasons. I do love food and relish my treats. I get moments of concern when I am a little fearful I will put half a stone back on and not be bale to shift it again. But I count myself very fortunate not to believe I will put on more than that. Checking in with you all regularly and having the chart wi makes such a difference. Which is amazing when you consider it would be very easy to to not own up to gains. We went through a phase a few months ago of tackling ho wdifficult it can be for the maintainer to post gains and I think that has helped us all to do so, which in turn has helped to get back on track.
FFM - thanks for posting youir struggles - I so appreciate you and others being real and being prepared to be vulnerable. A bmi of 18.1 gives you no leeway to beable to afford to lose anything if you were ill: I think it would still be healthy to gain a little more. But taking small baby steps in coping with that a little at a time is very ok. Only time will prove to you that you can get the balance right and trust yourself. It is great that you can look forward to your hols and embrace a relaxed foodie time.
Taking it easy today after a full on 2 days -I've had a great time.
Delly:well done sis - in -law NOT. Unbelievable! That would have made me cross.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi Missy
Exceptionally pleased to report that I only blooming well did it!!!!!!! Did the Race For Life and ran the whole 5k. OH timed us roughly and we did it in 45 mins. First time I have completed the full 5K! Ran 3 miles but 5K is a bit longer. Managed with the back by taking painkillers. Spent yesteday though in A&E cause I got Cillit Bang in my eye! Have a headache now but the other two families are coming over for a BBQ so have to run (not more running!)I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
-
Great stuff Tagz, what an achievement! Get lots of water down you for the headache and bask in the glory all day, all week in fact - you did something very special today, so thankyou from me x
Check your inboxes meeting-up-peeps, you finally have mail!If you don't have it, it'll be because I'm a clutz and got your address wrong or missed you off entirely; I'm a tryer at least :rotfl:
I also have some space in my PM box so grab it quick if you want it, it don't last long!

Yup - isn't she wonderful - I didn't know about it till OH had already agreed to it and she's already told me that she's gone to her credit union to get a loan to tide her over till pay day......
We've just decided to sponge off FiL (and he's agreed). He's still got part of his lump sum from his retirement "resting" in the bank. It won't be more than £100 so we'll pay it back next month as we won't have any childcare fees to pay out so will be about £350 better off anyway. I had earmarked the money to make a dent in a credit card bill we've managed to rack up. Oh well, it'll do till next month.
well done tagz:T on completeing the race for life
babykat - congratulations on the 1lb off..
have to run -still trying to train DS... every 15 minutesGoal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Tagz what a star you are!!! :T :T :T
I know you haven't had an easy week and to top it off with A&E yesterday too... poor you. Things were a bit against you but you must be so proud for pulling it out of the bag on the day in spite of all that!
Later when you've recovered do come and tell us a bit more about how it went, hope you managed to enjoy the day even though I know it must have been hard work0
