    I'm innocent! :A

I never started the whole granny thing - it was another poster talking about swimming "like a granny" and then vix made a comment about M&S being a "granny shop"!

In our family the granny shop is Dunelms!!
    Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j
  • So gain a stone or two, then lose it again! :p
Only kidding, I know maintaining is the real battle, I know when I get down to my target it will be so hard to resist just blowing out and eating what the heck I wanted all week. :o

I know you were joking 'so gain a stone or two, then lose it again' - the trouble is I think it would be so easy to put it all back on and it took me a few years to really 'get my head straight' to lose it this time round - I so want to keep it off - and never have to diet again.

I didn't starve on my 'diet' but it was the constant focus on healthy eating and the not eating cakes on birthdays, not trying all the different foods at work buffets, not having takeaways etc

It's really difficult to keep to 'everything in moderation' - I can just eat so much.

    FFM :)

Phew! Just managed to catch up on all the posts since I last logged on, Tuesday evening - I've been watching a DVD at the same time and it's taken me the whole length of the film! (I know, I should do one thing at a time.)

Firstly, well done everyone - but specially Suggs for getting under 100kg, and Annie and Kymrob for being the losers of the month.

Thanks Grannynise for making me laugh out loud several times during the film, once or twice at very inopportune moments. :rotfl: I fear the granny abuse is still going on though!
pink and green flowery one that reminded me of my Grandma's wallpaper
    :rotfl:

Vix - I hope you're feeling a bit more positive. Re the cricket ground job, why not have a stab at an application - the worst they can do is reject you, and it would be good practice for you to analyse your strengths and match them to the job requirements.

I'm sure there are other comments I was going to make, but my battery is just about to give up the ghost.

    Have a great Sunday.

That's what I mean, when I finally reach my goal all I'll want to do is eat pizzas and burgers and chips, cos I'll think 'well I can now'. But I must keep to the same plan as I am on now...being good 90%, treats 10%.
I'm hoping this is training me for the long term, I'll have to keep this up for the rest of my life if I want to keep healthy!

    hey everyone!

Hope everyone is ok. Im feeling a bit rough! cant believe i got that pooped and then went to work all day today. Had to do a delivery on tights at 9am, BOY that was tough, bending up and down. I was still wobbling all over the palce this morning as i was getting ready!

Best thing was, i took out £30, came back with about £27!! Only paid for a bit of a taxi journey. Free entry to the club and then we got drunk before we left to go to the club. Wicked night out it was, propper good. Can tell it was good cos i lost an earing, broke a shoe, flashed my knickers and got a blister on my toe!

Jules: I love hastings. Its not too far from me. Love the mini train and the golf. Shame the old lift isnt in use now.

Lois: Im too scared! Would love to work in cricket, i get this "feeling" that i dont get with anything else, even lingerie.

Granny: i agree with the others, youre soo funny. Not at all a "granny" To me, you only qulaify for grandma status when you hit 70, anything below that is not grandma, nan or anything.

Go for it! What have you got to lose? And with that kind of enthusiasm, you could win their hearts and get the job!

Wow, when I read the first post I couldn't imagine the ironman being possible to do in a day at all. What an achievment! Has anyone ever worked out the calories burned:rotfl: . Seriously though, did people have to eat whilst doing this:confused:, or did they have set breaks?

from what i remember my dad took things like banana, power bars and power drinks with him and ate on the go without breaks. his friend however took a whole picnic along and kept stopping to eat it at the side of the road!!! suprisingly it took his mate longer!

sure dads body fat % was about as low as it could get when he did it

Stick him in the garden and turn the hose on him!! :D Snigger :p
:rotfl: The thought did cross my mind raphael, the only problem is, the dog would probably get wetter that the wee one, and the only thing worst than wet dog smell is cats pee!

PLG - thanks for the suggestions:T , unfortunately, the choice of gift was made by SIL - we're expected to pay part of a joint birthday pressie - a 15" flatscrren tv with dvd/freeview. Apparently MIL was talking of getting one for her bedroom and as she's going in to get her gall bladder removed on Thursday, most likely the old fashioned way instead of keyhole surgery because of old scars on her tum, SIL though it would be a good idea to get her one for her birthday. Apparently it was £150 in Argos! at least we only have to pay 1/4 of it! Still more than I can afford at the mo.

Love the idea of the handbag organiser too... that looks great, but my MIL is actually the best seamstress I've ever seen and my pathetic attempts would give her and her friends amusement for years to come:rotfl:

Lemon Drop -I'm one of those pathetic people who bought Gina Ford's potty training book:o (also got the contented little baby book when he was little - he slept through the night from he was 6-7 weeks old). DS is 32 months old but just can't sit on the potty for her advised 5-10 minutes every 15 minutes - It'd be too much for me to do so I couldn't expect him to do it too. I did find her advice of keeping a chart useful though and it showed up a pattern that he goes approximately every 60 minutes -70 being the limit before accidents.. I found it more useful to let him run around in his underpants and if he had an accident I didn't fuss. We had 2 accidents and the last 2 goes today started as potential accidents but he made a run for the potty ..... SO FUNNY!:D Still waiting for number 2's though.... that should be fun!

Tomorrow might be a difficult day potty wise. as we're going out for that dreaded dinner with MIL thankfully we're going to a place that does 2 for £10 .. that's 2 courses for £10, starter and main or main and dessert.. so hopefully won't cost us more than about £25 with drinks and DS counted in. I don't want to confuse him and put him back into a nappy or trainer pants so I'm taking several changes of clothes, plastic bags and a towel for him to sit on ... my son doesn't wet - he floods!:rotfl: At least this way there'll be a minimum of fuss at the resteraunt if there is any accidents.

Off to bed now, today's been a really long day and tomorrow looks like it's going to be the same.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Definitely a motivational playlist there PLG! Mine is like a chillout compilation compared to that :D I might have to DL War of the Worlds now you've put it in my head though :) Have to say I'm amused that it ranges from the pure pop of "Take on Me" to, well, "Firestarter" :rotfl: Excellent.

Massive respect to your Dad Lysa! That must have taken total dedication for months.

Lemon Drop, I worked out my approx cals burned for my relatively teeny tiny triathlon and it was 761... no idea about the ironman one. Maybe 100 times more?!

FFM I wish there was something I could say that would help you trust yourself that you won't spiral back out of control :) Looking at the big picture, are you not comfortable overall with your eating habits and how you are doing since you went into maintain mode, because I think you're doing great :) When you say you never want to have to diet again, does that mean even temporarily for a few weeks, should you find you gain a little bit at some point? I hate to think of you struggling with this at the moment :(

Missyg, thanks for the support. My eating habits at the moment are quite good, but it takes will power every day. I do enjoy 'healthy' food, but I really love the food which is generally considered not so good.
