I'm sorry to hear about your father.

There's more information about the MSE charities here and you can nominate charities for the next round of funding here. I've nominated 'my' charity again, which is probably extremely cheeky, but if you don't ask you don't get!

Thanks Lois ~ i have now nominated https://www.DISIP.org.uk

Which leads me nicely onto my question for the runners - are you wearing any special cushioned socks, trainer insoles or anything like that, and if so do they help - either for comfort or performance?

Whenever I get the runs, I tend to make sure I have the really soft paper :) Or you mean running, no I dont do running, but I do have a normal pair of trainers, and trainer socks with a slightly thick sole, that I use just for the gym. I had read that the insoles should be the first thing to change as thats the cheapest item put in the trainer. But I have not explored that bit yet. Hope that helps.

With regards to your trialthon on Friday, you swimming at the pool? so are you really going to jump out all wet and straight onto the bike??? Like the real ones?? Im still in shock for you been the non runner!! and just how far you have come since. Well done you.

Well done Efrieze too on doing it yourself. I did start on Sunday with MrsS but I left her behind after 600 yards (ish), she told me to gone on, we now have planned the lap in both directions, so we both know the 800m points in either direction. She has decided Im too quick for her (in more than one sense!) So looks like although she will be out there with me, we wont actually be jogging together.

Just a quickie - we are just back from Germany with a stop off in Antwerp for the night and just off the zeebrugge-Hull ferry.
I really daren't get on the scales (I stayed away from the beer, but did have a few glasses of wine....).
I hope everyone has ahd a good week - it's hard to catch up with everyone after only 5 days away so i will just have to jump back in.

  • hi guys.

proud to report a 4 pound loss!

which is really odd i was like 14 stone the other day, but i went on scales this morning (at same time i do everytime i weight in) and it was at 13 stone 10!

ive no doubt this will go up slightly but its definately a great feeling at 25 to be 13stone 10 since i havent been that in about 8 years!

feeling good (but i do expect it to go up by 1 or 2 pounds)

kennyparkroad - congratulations on your great loss!

Lois - thanks for the link. Can't believe I've been living in Japan for the past 4 and a bit years and not been taking advantage of the weight loss power of green tea  Only thing is - I think it tastes gross cold - I can just about drink it hot. Maybe I should stop being so fussy and just down 5 cups of it day - if it helped me lose weight it'd be worth it :rotfl:

glad everyone is enjoying their running! I have a question - all you people who were raving about wii fit a couple of months ago - do you still love it/use it? Thinking about getting one, but am very aware that I got tired of my dance mat very quickly, and this is rather more of an outlay. Although i would be able to play the rabbids game which was dead good. And it's got lego Indy, which is sooooooo cute . . . . . .

Haha Suggs! As tempting as it is to run through the swimming pool foyer soaking wet in my cossie, I think I'll take a couple of minutes to towel off and change into cycle kit in a private cubicle ;)

I am hoping to keep both changeovers to less than 10 minutes each - enough time to towel off, get changed, grab a drink and a jaffa cake, visit the bathroom, and in the case of the running part, cycle an extra 1.3km to get to the park :) It's all worked out and I have someone to take my swimming bag off me at the pool so that will help.

At this morning's training sesh I did:

    15km bike ride 42:18 mins
    5km run 31:46 mins

Changeover was 11:19 mins so I need to get that done faster next time, I faffed about a bit too much :p

My running time was a minute down on previous which I sort of expected with adding on the cycling first. Tomorrow I'm planning a longer bike ride (perhaps 25km) followed by slightly shorter run (perhaps 3km), I'll rest on Thursday and then go for the three things together on Friday :) It all felt great this morning so I can't wait!

Yes kpc, I still regularly use mine. I even still play Wii sports which comes with it, and I've had that almost 2 years. I too usually tire of consoles quickly but the Wii is different
