I'll be happy regardless though because I feel in such great shape at the moment. Seems weird to say something like that but it's true
missyg, great mind set - I need to get to that place too!
Good luck tomorrow with the weigh in.
BB - yippee, cream tea's back on :j I did 11 miles yesterday, 14 miles today, so give me 4 days and I'll get there :rotfl: . You never know, by next June maybe I'll be up to the challenge, but I am more than 20 years older than I was the last time I did it.

been lurking on the thread and thought it was time to introduce myself!
I'm hoping to lose about 35-40lbs in total and hopefully lose about 7-10lb before my hol in august. i always use to be very slim when i was younger but put on three stone when i had depression and never lost it.
anyway,i'm using the paul mckenna cd's which seem to be helping me eat less and exercise more which can only help!!!
I was wondering where the lose 5lb a month thread is? i think i might be bein daft but i cant find it!
Lys x
Hi Lyswelcome to the thread! We have a monthly challenge to lose 5lbs, and there's a chart that's posted every Wednesday, so you've found us.
Would you like to be added to the chart for this week? I'm currently updating it, and then handing it over to Brighton Belle who will be posting it.
I've heard a bit about Paul McKenna's methods - is that where you do conscious eating, pausing between mouthfuls and then stopping when your hunger is satisfied rather than when you're full? How are you getting on with it?

yes thats the paul mckenna thing that im doing. its all about eating slowly and enjoying your food and stopping before your full. its hard to begin with but it seems to be getting easier. i bought his 90 success journal thing too which helps you day by day. he reccommends you dont weigh yourself for a week so my first weigh in is a week tomorrow  really makes u want to exercise tho!Aug £10 a day £0/£10000 -
I have just started to loose weight this is my first week.
So far with going out biking with my husband who is also loosing weight i have lost 6lbs this week.

Hiya
I completely understand anyone that doesn't want to combine MSE with Facebook - it's far more anonymous here than it is there, and I was as insecure as anyone could be when I first signed up. Now I'm more relaxed about it - I'm me, whether it's as myself on Facebook, or as LL on here - this is who I am and I don't feel any need to cover up.
I'm not implying that I think the opposite is true about people who don't feel the same, by the way.
Belonging to a LW group on Facebook would make it obvious that you've got a weight issue and that may not be something you want your rl friends, family, colleagues etc to know, however being a friend of an MSE'r on Facebook wouldn't have the same connotation, especially if there was a groundrule of no weight loss talk, as Missyg and Vix have agreed.
I hope no-one feels they are being pressured into joining my group - that wasn't my intention either - it was just a spur of the moment idea, as a few people had mentioned being on Facebook too.
LL
kpc - I can't find your turkey curry you mentioned on the recipe thread - am I looking in the right place?
Big welcome to lysasparkles (glad you've decided to not just lurk - I think many of us started off as lurkers:D ) & babykat. Throw yourself into the chat for max enjoyment and support. Try the first post for links to the recipe thread for ideas (though I'm sure others will offer ideas soon.)
FFM - consider your cream tea as booked (do you remember ditchling beacon 5 miles before the end? If not I won't remind you) Mind you, re my earlier offer, I'm not sure as cyclists its feet that will need massaging...:oI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I am scared to join the group, but what the hell!! i cant remember what page lovelly lois posted it on.
Also another reason for not sharing facebook on here is that you would literally be able to come straight to my front door, ring my phone, see everything i do, see everyone i socialise with. Its like a viewing to your whole life. Ok maybe not my front door and i have a fake phone number on it, but im sure you could work it out! ha.0
