Thanks katiepoppycat, Jay11 and......Pet.
I'll definately get one or the other of them (or both and see which I like best) sounds just perfect as I've missed it the last 2 nights.
Thanks a lot, for the congrats too.

Ajax I've been known to get excited over the old web sports ticker update a few times
I sometimes get more anxious with those than when it's on tv.
I prefer to separate my 'real life self' from my MSE/weight loss self too so you are definitely not aloneI'm more than happy to be facebook friends with regular peeps on here though, as long as we don't mention this is our secret hidey place
Weekly score time: Average cals/day is <1400, activity... hmm... I tend to under estimate usually but this week I think I might put it at moderate to very active? This would put me on about a 1.25lb loss pace but I know it's not going to be as much as that. I think it might be a STS or a teeny tiny nought point something bit either way
I'll be happy regardless though because I feel in such great shape at the moment. Seems weird to say something like that but it's true

...... the real answer : It means people I know being able to see me and the WL thing. On the forum and on a web page it's easy to be 'covertly open' (?!) because the only people I interact with are not part of my social scene. It's easy to talk in throwaways because this is 'unreal' on here. Ok there's photos, but you'd be very unlucky. I don't feel secure enough to marry up facebook and the online LW thing yet.. maybe not ever. That makes no sense to anyone, does it?
Maybe it's a man thing.
Lois - lovely picture of your face on your facebook link! Great to meet youI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Facebook: what a relief to know that I'm not the only person who feels less than comfortable about the idea of merging facebook & mse, I do have a couple of mse'rs on my FB, but only those I've gotten to know well outside mse. I have lots of more personal stuff on my FB--family, rl friends, etc. and must admit I'm also wary of sharing too much on a public forum dueto my employment situation (nothing dodgy, just working in healthcare leaves you vulnerable). Great idea though for those who can make use of it.
Thanks guys

Gave OH a turn a turn I can tell you. The muffins attackd me! Off to get in the bath where they can't com back and finish me off.
Just back from a long walk along the seafront to rottingdean (home of "this is a local shop for local people". A real achievement to walk that far (3.5miles)-very breezy but beautiful sunshine. A small choc ice was a necessity. Hopped on the bus back.
kpc yummy white bean mash and steak for dinner tonight:j .I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Sounds like a lovely evening altogether BB! Well done on that long walk, you did more than 5km! Great stuff!
Must be so nice to be able to walk along the seafront.
Dare I ask what happened in the golf, Ajax?0 -
Ajax You work with aircraft parts! I'm soooooooo jealous!
I know exactly what you mean with Facebook too. I have also been known to teach, so for me, I wouldn't touch facebook with a barge pole!!£2008 in 2008 member 552 £1947 to go! (started 20/1/08) Total wins £61

Yes, it is nice to be able to walk along the seafront - preferably away from brighton and the [STRIKE]riffraff[/STRIKE] crowds. It's a nice focal point for a quick walk, as we are only 5mins from the seafront were we live, but still suprisingly quiet. Very handy for the end point of the London to brighton ride - you peeps wouldn't have far to stagger for foot massages and cream teas on demand:D .I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
hi all
been lurking on the thread and thought it was time to introduce myself!
I'm hoping to lose about 35-40lbs in total and hopefully lose about 7-10lb before my hol in august. i always use to be very slim when i was younger but put on three stone when i had depression and never lost it.
anyway,i'm using the paul mckenna cd's which seem to be helping me eat less and exercise more which can only help!!!
I was wondering where the lose 5lb a month thread is? i think i might be bein daft but i cant find it!

Hiya
I completely understand anyone that doesn't want to combine MSE with Facebook - it's far more anonymous here than it is there, and I was as insecure as anyone could be when I first signed up. Now I'm more relaxed about it - I'm me, whether it's as myself on Facebook, or as LL on here - this is who I am and I don't feel any need to cover up.
I'm not implying that I think the opposite is true about people who don't feel the same, by the way.
Belonging to a LW group on Facebook would make it obvious that you've got a weight issue and that may not be something you want your rl friends, family, colleagues etc to know, however being a friend of an MSE'r on Facebook wouldn't have the same connotation, especially if there was a groundrule of no weight loss talk, as Missyg and Vix have agreed.
I hope no-one feels they are being pressured into joining my group - that wasn't my intention either - it was just a spur of the moment idea, as a few people had mentioned being on Facebook too.
