FFM, ooh you're up for the breakfast challenge too! I'll start tomorrow as well seeing as I had already planned to have the thick sliced bread for my toast ;) I will be interested to see whether I feel less hungry as the article says.

They say that eating breakfast kickstarts your metabolism, so I suppose that is why I always feel hungry earlier in the morning if I eat breakfast. I always have some fruit handy to snack on mid-morning.

Another Saturday of doing the washing by hand awaits... I thought I'd try the MSE trick of just leaving the washing machine for a week to see if it would fix itself :p It got halfway through a timesaver wash cycle and then packed up again! Soggy washing now. Never mind.

2850 Ajax just to maintain!!! I can't even maintain properly on 1200 dammit!

FFM - proud of you m'dear! Just need to remove the bit in brackets next time ;) My 'supersize' breakfast consisted of 2 slices of toast with marmite and a Muller Vitality yoghurt drink. 29% of daily intake if all goes to plan today. Can you believe those 2 things account for nearly a THIRD of my total daily intake!!!

Anyway I don't feel 'totally stuffed' but I am not hungry yet :D

Well done again Kymrob, every week you report in with an amazing loss. I'd love to hear more from you if you ever get chance to join in some of the chat during the week :)

FFM & Pet even with my current BMI 19.9 I am on the border of underfat on the body fat % chart. I'm guessing the difference between, say, BMI 17.5-18.5 and what I am is either muscle or bigger/heavier frame? Do you two have a very petite frame? I could take off ALL my body fat (which is impossible!) and I'd still be BMI 16.5 :rotfl:

Have a good weekend everyone :)

Hand washing sounds like 'hell', I'd get that machine fixed PDQ.

I felt very uncomfortable so went for a bike ride to a local Farmers' market, located in a very pretty little village - but the prices  . It was only 11 1/5 miles round trip, but because it is so hilly it was quite a work out. Lowest point at the river about 0-5m AOD, highest point 125m AOD. I did have to get off and walk on a few occasions.:o

Just had a bacon and egg sarnie (hm bread - yum) for lunch, about 300 cals. Didn't feel hungry during the morning, but I was rather preoccupied with cycling up and down all those hills. Down was good fun, except for the thought of having to cycle back up it on the way home.

Might be popping in to town a bit later to pick up a rental PS3 game for DS who is having a sleep over tonight. DD is away for the weekend, so ideal for a 'boys night in'. A chocolate fudge cake is on the menu if I pull my finger out and get it cooked.

I would never have described me as 'petite', my wrist measurement is 5 1/2 inches, I guess that might be a good place to measure  no fat there.

I know I am a bit boney from the waist upwards, but have always been rather pear shaped. My waist is 23 1/2 inches but my thighs are 19 inches!!! It just looks rather 'odd'.

    FFM :)

To not make the same mistake again – I wrote this in word!

missyg you really have my sympathy. Forget the MS aspect and get it fixed! I really couldn’t cope with handwashing. The age of the ‘gadget’ is wonderful. Don’t know how I’d have coped in my Grans’ day (yes, I know, I wouldn’t know any different but you know what I mean) but I guarantee I wouldn’t have struggled with a weight problem. :D

Tesco pork sausages, from both the healthy living low fat and light choice range are ½ syn each.

There are some excellent recipes around both on here and at SW online. The biggest problem I have is that I don’t (will not) cook. I got out of the habit years ago and it’s a struggle to get back into it. The washing up it creates

The best thing about going back to SW class is the fact that I think about what I’m about to eat. Then I eat it anyway – even if I’m not supposed to. What makes me worse is my OH is always saying ‘ you can’t eat that’ and I tell him that I can eat whatever I want. Then I usually do and end up not losing!!! I really am my own worse enemy :wall:

At least I’ve really cut back on the sandwiches and I swear that if I laid off bread all together I’d have little trouble losing a pound every week (it’s not the bread that’s the problem it’s the 1lb of butter I use :o ). My ‘change of eating’ plan can get very boring, very quickly, and this is my biggest downfall. I know this and I’m happy to work around it but more often then not I end up not eating enough, then I reach for a quick fix and end up breaking every healthy eating rule that’s ever been introduced  . Well I’m not in it for a quick fix and if I can lose a stone and a half and then maintain at around there I’d be very happy. I have a lovely cooker at home so who knows – maybe I’ll take the plunge and start to use it again.

Well it is a soggy weekend for all of us and I did all my housework yesterday :j so I’m off to put my feet up now.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :T

Really interesting article BB, thanks for that. Its really made be think about feeding the stuff to my DS (he's only 19 months)! He was eating some of Sainsbury's version of shreddies dry yesterday, and he fed me one. It was so sweet. I find that I get quite sensitive to sweet things when doing low carb as it doesn't really involve sugar at all. Still, it wasn't one that you would normally think of as having large quantities of sugar/salt. Not obviously sugary like frosties or coco pops anyway. Something else to make me feel less guilty about porridge anyway!

OMG, I just stumbled across this site. www.telebid.com It's a genius money-making semi-scam for the organisers but it's a stupidity tax for the numpties who go on it. You place bids on items, but each bid costs you 50p and the items go up in 7p increments. So a Nintendo Wii selling for £70 has already attracted:
1000 bids x 50p = £500. Add the selling price and the site's £180 quid outlay on a Wii nets them £570. I just totalled up what the site had made since 6:00 this morning - over £13,000 :rotfl:

They are doing that with everything - games, homewares, even cash (although there is a strategy there ;)). Oh how I love the Jeremy Kyle brigade :rotfl:

    Ajax,

Sounds like a good workout FFM! :D How do you get the AOD's, I'd love that info for my bike rides? My wrists are 6¼ inches by the way so going by that you are certainly more petite framed than I am ;)

Had lunch but I'm really hungry - don't know why, I shouldn't be  It's a long time till tea and I only have 235 cals left for the whole rest of the day  Gonna have to plan more sensibly for tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of the day, hope DS has a good sleepover :) Mmm cake baking :D

The hand washing hasn't bothered me too much Erlqueen, I consider it a bit of a workout :p At least the machine did half a cycle today which was more than last week, maybe next time it will get three quarters through :rotfl: I might have to put off the repair for a few more weeks because my holiday's costing stupid money. There's always the laundrette (at least I think there's still a laundrette... somewhere...!)

Not quite a third Beanielou, 29% (351 of 1200 calories). Mad isn't it! It was thick sliced bread though which makes a difference.

How are things in Scotland this weekend? Are you up to much?

Huge congratulations kymrob! An amazing loss! :T

Well, I did it and managed to lose the 1 Lb that I gained last week!!! :j I'm quite chuffed but don't seem to be losing at any decent rate at all. I've walked a heck of a lot again, but don't seem able to shift much.

Also, I'm a bit foxed about what you said to Mick yesterday Ajax, about finding out your BMI then times?? it by your BMR - is that correct? I just couldn't seem to get that far on the link suggs gave, probably just me. Also, no peas and pulses? I though pulses were supposed to be good for us back along?

Anyone know about Drinking Chocolate? I have a mug each night before bed and have often wondered if it does any good cals wise, despite what's said about it aiding sleep (I don't need anything like that), I looked at the cals yesterday and it said 135 per cup, isn't that a few too many to be going to bed on? I also have an under active thyroid and need to take 100 mgs of thyroxine daily, but still feel I'm sluggish.

Big breakfasts doing us good?! The only time I could ever eat anything like it is on holidays, but even then they make me starving for the rest of the day! Am I not right somewhere? :o No need to answer that bit! Whoever said about looking like a muffin about to explode over the top (similar wording) reminds me....of me!:rotfl:
