Well done to everyone who has lost/maintained this week.:T
KPC - I LOVE the Discworld. Have you seen the film version of "The Colour of Magic" ? I thought it would be great as it has David Jason - however I was really disappointed by it. I guess the magic of the books really can't be recreated on film.
PLG - I completely agree with you - I think the problem was twofold - firstly, Rincewind in my mind's eye is thinner and about 20 years younger than David Jason as Rincewind in COM.... secondly - I couldn't get past David Jason being Albert in the Hogfather (perfectly cast but - what genius thought that he should be both?)Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

I'm off to think about what I want to write now .... the words that spring to mind ... cute and cuddly , a natural athlete, fanatical about healthy eating, strong will power, congenital liar ........ I'll try again.
PS Love Vix's quote. Has she thought of running for president of the USA?
Ajax are you going to post the web page somewhere we can all find it?
well done to the slimmers of the week! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j go you!
to those on the Cambridge Diet - yep it can work for some but not for all - if it works for you :beer::beer:, for me if I drop my kcals too far I actually put on weight (I am on steroids) so for me low fat/low cal is the way to go :rolleyes:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Thanks for the chart Lois I didn't realise how much I missed you from the thread until you came back - you definitely add heart to our lovely forum.
I went to the later SW class tonigh so couldn't report back in time..
Anyway 2lbs gain for me this week. I have to admit, I knew it was coming as I didn't follow the plan all week with DS being ill and middle of the month. DS isn't great tonight either. I think I may be in for a long night!
Congratulations to all the losers and maintainers - comiserations to those who gained - the best thing about the past week is that it's now over and we can move forward.
missyg as you can see my greed :rotfl: days don't work very well given I've gained this week, but I will stick to green and original days from now on.
Welcome new posters - I'm sorry that some of you felt you were being criticised, and am glad that Serendisglair put our purpose across so well. Please stick with us - you'll soon see that we really are a nice bunch of folks.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Aww, what a lovely thing to say, sniffI'd forgotten how much I enjoy being here, so thank you.
I already had a result on the chart for you this week, so I'll put this one down for next week (by which time you might have lost it again and you can forget all about it!)
Give little'un an extra hug from me.

Well done to everyone who achieved the monthly target, I failed spectacularly this month
But it wasnt my fault - honest!!
Thanks for the posts and PMs I got, I think my panic etc has passed for now, I am still looking at other plans incase I sts again this week but Im trying for a more varied menu this week, going for some metabolism increasing foods and Ive dropped 4 points a day - so all in all fingers crossed.
Thanks again for the suggestions, ideas and general support
Oh and ajax the page youve done is fantastic... I love it, what a great idea!!0 -
I keep a food diary YoungBean! Yes it works, I need a lot of control over what I'm eating and I don't think I could do this without one
missyg I know exactly what you mean. The reason I havent been able to stick with classes, is because I always feel restricted, whereas now, I am just eating sensible portions, and not going overboard on really fatty foods.
God knows how I lost 7lbs, when I went for a pizza hut on friday, and had 2 bbqs over the weekend. But Im lucky I have OH, friends and family that are 100% behind me, and not letting me be tempted!
All I need to do now, is get some exercise started. I love swimming, but I need to do other things aswell.
Can anyone suggest exercise that I can start off slowly with? Then build myself up?

thanks folks! I had a great night last night - went a networking event for yorkshire food businesses - spnet all night being told what a wonderful idea my business was and got lots of helpful info. And oh the canapes! Mini shepherds pies with nidderdale lamb . . . but i made a spectacular faux pas with one of them. It was a mini lemon meringue and i knew i shouldn't but threw temptation to the wind. I though it would be a soft meringue, but oh no. It exploded and crumbled simultaneously. So i was trying to be professional and cool, juggling a stack of business cards, a programme and a meringue that had disintegrated as it cascaded down my front. I'm sure they will remember me as 'that awful woman who can't eat in company'.0

Sorry to hear about your troubles Victory - have you moved a long way from where you lived before? If not, would it be possible for your son to stay where he is?
