    HI
Have just spent the last few hours trawling throught the pile of copies of six years worth of statements for 1 personal and 2 business accounts from Natwest.

I can see most of the charges ie unpaid cheques and unpaid dd. There are charges as far back as 2002 for £6, later £9 and later again £20 with no explanation.

Can anyone suggest what these charges may be for. They seem to be made on a roughly monthly basis. I'm wondering if they could be for cash withdrawalls and want to check wether or not to include or exlude them in my workings out.

    Advice really appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you have/had an Advantage Gold a/c (these ADGD fees are not claimable):
    • October 2002 The Advanntage Gold fee was £6
    • September 2003 The fee went up to £9
    • From July 2005 it was £10
    • From June 2006 it was £12
    • From April 28th 2008 it is £12.95

So how do I work out what is the Advantage Gold and Unarranged Borrowing charge?

    The statement may say:

Charge £20 so that is £14 Unarranged Borrowing and £6 ADGD fee,

or £29 which is £20 Unarranged Borrowing and £9 ADGD fee, or £37 which is Unarranged Borrowing and £9 ADGD,

or £38 which is £28 Unarranged Borrowing and £9 ADGD, or £40 which is £28 Unarranged Borrowing and £12 ADGD fee

or £40.95 is £28 maintenace charge and £12.95 Advantage Gold.

Thanks, that looks to be it. Must admit I knew there was an annual fee for Advantage Gold but didn't consider these to be associated.
Ok back to trawling through the paperwork.
    Thanks :T

It should say the type of a/c at the top of statements

    They are monthly fees

Hi, Can I reclaim a charge listed as Overdraft Fee on a personal HSBC current account? The amounts vary each month between £25 & £100. There are also Debit interest charges which I believe can't be reclaimed.

My partner also had a business account with HSBC - can he reclaim charges on the business account?

    Thanks.
  • Hi, can anybody tell whether I would be able to claim 1 of these charges back?
I've read the guidelines on here as to what can be claimed so the debit interest is a non starter, right?
Can I claim the other 'pre-notified fees & charges' or have they got me over a barrel with the wording? e;g 'pre-notified'
Or can I not claim either because the account was already over the 1500 overdraft limit and therefore the 2nd charge was not caused by the first?
I am in serious financial hardship so it got my hopes up to find that the claims are not on hold for those in financial hardship but I don't want to make a mistake on what to claim.

Can I claim if I've closed down my account, or if the bank forwarded my account on to the debt collectors?
