Does he still use the accounts today?
Is he still incurring charges?
Do you have priority debt arrears(mortgage or rent, council tax, utilities)?
Is there any credit card, store cards or catalogue account charges as well?
My partner has been with the bank since the age of 17 - he is now 51.
The accounts are still in use and charges are still being levied on a monthly basis - these are between £50 and £150 each month.
He has no arrears on mortgage or any other bills, but manages by using credit card to cover shopping and day to day funding for his children who live with him. He has no credit card charges to date.
Should I reply to the bank's letter asking for list of charges prior to 2007 or are they using the FSA cut off guidelines of 2007?
Thanks.0 -

There is no such cut off deadline. The only date on 2007 relates to the bank no dealing with a complaint due to the limitations act(or 6 years).
ask them for the rest of the charges.
He doesn't have to file a claim at court to be able to have his claim repaid btw.0 -

Thanks, this has really helped. I will get a letter off to the bank for him asking for all the charges from 2001 then request these are repaid under the "hardship" rules. If it gets his overdraft down at least it will have been worth it.
thanks again,0 -

The total is: £1843.71
If anyone with NatWest Online Banking would like help getting this information downloaded, edited and viewed, send me a PM, or post a reply and I will start a new thread about how to do this.
I don't know about other Online Banking websites, but if you can download your previous statements, it's possible (and should follow the same principle).
Thanks,
Dan
Hi,
I'm with NatWest too and have Online Banking. Could you please help me getting my bank statements dowloaded, edited and viewed to know how much I've been charged?

Thanks.- (1) Log into NatWest online banking,
- (2) Go to statements on the right hand side and click on that,
- (3) then on the drop down menu it says "historic transactions" then you need to choose dates not more than 12 months, ie 5th October 2002 until 4th October 2003, etc, etc,.

Hi folks. I'm helping a friend of mine reclaim charges, but want to make sure I've got a right to try and reclaim! The Alliance & Leicester have been stinging my mate with charges for being over his overdraft limit to the tune of £5.00 per day - sometimes up to 15 days in a month.
Can these costs be reclaimed as he has accrued around £640 in the last ten months alone. Your comments would be much appreciated :jMSE - The Stig0 -
