Many thanks S.S.O0 -
Thankyou. I don`t suppose you know what I should do if the Halifax don`t reply to my charge request within 40 days? TSB were very prompt but Halifax are coming up to 40 days with no reply??0

Did you send it recorded delivery?0 -
The cheque was cashed 7 days after I sent the letter, but I didn`t send it recorded.0

Furthermore, most of the questions I ask relate to Financial hardship claims because I know what I am talking about on that side of things.
I have put in a claim on behalf of my partner to HSBC who have replied with a list of o/d charges for two accounts totalling £2,066. However, these charges only cover the period from Dec 2007 for one of the accounts, and from May 2008 on the other, even though the letter states "historic charges period 27/07/2001 to 04/09/2009". Should we reply to the bank to re-request the charges from 2001 or will they not provide this? Also, I believe my partner is in hardship as he constantly needs to use his credit card for food shopping and to pay other bills etc; he has been in financial hardship since becoming a single parent following an expensive divorce 3 years ago and has had regular bank charges levied against him each month which have placed him in even greater debt. A payout of this amount would help to put him back on track again financially, even if only to clear his overdraft. What is the best course of action he should take regarding this situation, and is he entitled to information about charges prior to 2007?
Is there a time limit for us to file a claim with the court following receipt of the letter from the bank (dated 30/09/09) ?
Many thanks.

He is entitled to all the information but can you clarify with him the dates that the accounts were opened?
Does he still use the accounts today?
Is he still incurring charges?
Do you have priority debt arrears(mortgage or rent, council tax, utilities)?
Is there any credit card, store cards or catalogue account charges as well?0 -
I have successfully re-claimed for unfair bank charges in the past, so could I claim again? I have a graduate account (mature student), and have an overdraft, which I sometimes go over. I have an extended £150 reserve on top of this, but the bank charge £22 every 5 days that I am into this. This charge has amounted to nearly £90 in 1 month, plus other charges to go into the reserve. Does anyone know if (even though I agreed to the £22 charges, not thinking I would need to use the reserve) these would be reasonable charges, or if I can claim them back. Thanks0
