How will this affect things like savings at other HBOS companies like B. Midshires?
And look at the long term, if you have savings over £35k in one account and that institue should fail.you are only guaranteed 35k back the excess would be probably paying of someone elses loss...just a thought0 -
i was actually considering buying thinking it can't possibly get any lower hoping to reap when things get better, I think the message here is-don't take the risk0

Rubbish, i'm not guilty of anything..savings are only guaranteed to 35k that's a fact, a person asked for an opinion of whether to invest or not and i said i wouldnt..so get your facts straight..
with regards to using wall street as an example, perhaps you should take a look at the shares and see that the u.k's values usually rise or fall in comparison to how the states performs.
and if you had cared to research today you would see that £20 billion has actually been injected to calm the storm.
Lets see how the week unfolds before you make anymore slanderous remarks agent orange.0 -
I must say sorry for my error it's actually £30 billion and not £20 billion that has had to be injected

There was a mad scramble by UK banks for the BoE's cash injection, which was five times oversubscribed.
So l think my advice is well justified0 -
Setmefree, you stand accused of scaremongering. I'll take a bet with you, no saver with hbos group of companies will lose their savings.0
