is this a good time to buy HBOS shares? I am thinking of dabbling in the market also whats the best way of buying
12:12 today would have been an excellent time to buy HBOS - you could sell now for a 25% profit (assuming you bought 1,000 quids worth).
Of course, this isn't investing, its gambling. Fun though. Just don't play with money that you can't afford to lose.
To answer your question on best way to buy, if you bank with HBOS, their own on-line share dealing service is very easy to use and reasonably priced.0 -
hbos will not be allowed to fail as far as savers are concerned, as for share holders, that's a different matter.0

That's exactly the point that was being made earlier. HBOS will not, or won't be allowed to, go under!0 -

agent orange your words were ... I'll take a bet with you, no saver with hbos group of companies will lose their savings.
So what are you stating,Mmmm l know you are stating that the tax payer will bail all the savers out and that all savers will get back all their money...with all due respect agent orange why the hell should the tax payer bail out everyone in event of a collapse of a banking institution??? has the banking industry protected every one who has lost their properties NO..is this not a 100% proof that the we protect those who have money and stuff those who struggle..says it all0 -

Agent Orange is factually correct though! No one was discussing the rights or wrongs!0 -
Just in theory, if I borrowed 10k from them and they go broke. How long would I have before I have to pay that back
The sp500 is only down 1.85% Thats practically a normal days trading, maybe further falls when asian markets reopen?0
