Not a beetroot in sight Shez! Well done to both you and weeping river :T :T
Well, I'm now back from a weekend in the big smoke. It was great to meet some lovely OSers yesterday. I hope that ivyleaf and Churchmouse didn't sway too much of the way home.
I had to leave early to get to my friend's house in East Dulwich before going to see Boyzone.
I knew that I'd enjoy myself at the Boyzone concert, but they really pulled all the stops out. It was such a "show" (as it damn well should be!) and they sang ALL the songs that we wanted to hear and the choreography was simply fantastic. In addition, it was obvious that they were having the time of their lives.......... I did have a lump in my throat as it just took me back 8 years to when I last saw them. My friend who I went with (her 30th bday pressie from me
) thoroughly enjoyed herself too and we've been talking about when they next go on tour! :j :j
Aussielass - surely that's the wrong colour of tutu that N9eav's mate is wearing?
DH has been to a christening party today, without me. The without me is quite significant as he still has the present and card in the car that he should have handed over. :wall:
stefejb - I hope that you've picked up lots of lovely things at the farmers' market. I managed to miss our last farmers' market, even though I had every intention of going, due to me "inspecting my eyelids for pin holes" (as DH puts it).
Not sure what supper will be, but probably something on toast or a quick tomato soup. DH had a bbq at the christening party and I had a roast with my friend.

Well done Shez and Weepng River and good luck to those still to run.
Mr CaringSharing got a call from Thorpe Park today to say they've found the glases and if he would like to pop over or send a sae .... I've told him that I will deal with it - he spent nearly £100 there on Friday and they can't afford a jiffy bag and a stamp! for all they know she is still bumping into things so this is causing more delay
Boot sale was great - I bought a blouse, a monsoon cardigan, elle hoodie and a cordurouy jacket as well as a pistol and eyepatch for my dnephew who is going to be a pirate when he grows up. Dfriend bought a navy jacket identical to the one she paid £50 for the day before - she hasn't worn the "real shop" one so will take it back tomorrow - and some classic timberlands for a tenner. she wasn't over-impressed with the farmers market though as she prefers to buy food that's nicely wrapped and packaged .... by M and S. I got some mackerel pate though.
When i got back Mr CaringSharing was all comfy sitting in my garden so I pointed out that it was still officially Daddy Weekend time and that dd would need feeding before he went and took myself upstairs with the pate, melba toast and a book - that was at 3pm and I got woken up at 7pm - guess I was looking for pinholes too.
I touched soemthing and the writing went big on all the messages - does anyone know what I did?I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Evening all
Flaming broadband died around 8am this morning and only came on again about 5ish this evening grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Hubby and son been sorting son's car out again today, finished servicing it yesterday and the battery died in the meantime so they had to go out and get a new one. So dinner was a bit later than usual which was roast chicken with all the trimmings.
My friend in Liverpool has gone to the Paul McCartney concert tonight and she has justed text me saying that Wayne Rooney and Coleen are in the seats a couple of rows behind her. She knows he's my favourite player so her daughter has taken a photo of him for me - bless her.
Just been watching the Mary Whitehouse programme I taped the other day. Was quite funny in parts.
Well done to Shez and Weeping River on their Run for Life.
Hugs to all who need them or want them0 -
well done running peeps!!
Thanks for the anniversary wishes. OH and I decided on Italian meal in the end. It was delicious. Cold, cold crisp white wine as well was fab. Came home and relaxed. Now making veg soup from frozen veg stock and some of my rather limp remains from veggie box. Very OS. Smells good though. Hoping this will do for tea on Mon and Tue - just a sandwich or something easy after if needed.

WELL DONE SHEZ AND WEEPING RIVER!!!!
Had another relaxing day today - had lovely roast chicken for lunch, and ive frozen 2 portions in gravy for roasts in later weeks, another portion in gravy which can be made into a pie and some is in the fridge, ready to be made into chicken curry on Tuesday! The carcus is now in the SC making stock, which i will use tomorrow when i make a leek and potato soup. I also made a cake whilst the roast was cooking so feeling very domestic today!
Ive washed both the childrens bedding, and their beds are all made up again and ive just hoovered upstairs, downstairs and the stairs.
But the best bit today, is that just before my shower, i weighed myself and ive lost another 2lb!! Im so pleased with myself!
OK, off to dry my hair and get my children to bed, they have been up late all week (staying up to watch Britains got talent, but it has been half term) so im going to send them to bed early tonight, they will not be impressed!
Have a lovely evening everyone
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Hiya :hello:
Well done weeping river and shez! Shez your kids are lovely and what a fab banner!
catowen well done on the weight loss. Are you on a diet or have you just been cutting down?
I haven't posted for a couple of days so I hope that everyone is healthy and happy.
We went to see the new Indiana Jones movie on friday and we loved it. Ignore the reviews, as if you enjoyed the other 3 films then you'll like this one too. It had the usual excitement, laughs, surprises and cheesyness.:D
Yesterday we had a lovely warm day and I spent most of it inside catching up on the washing, ironing and cleaning!
and today the weather has been wet and miserable and I've spent most of it inside reading the papers and drinking tea.;)
On Tuesday I ordered some (de-hydrated) soya mince and Realeat vegeburger mixes from a site called Goodnessdirect. The order came very quicky and so on Friday we had vegeburger hamburgers using the Realeat mix and the kids really enjoyed them. We used to take these vegeburger mixes with us when we went cycle camping 20 years ago and so it was a trip down memory lane. Yesterday I used the soya mince to make a spag bol and that was also a success. I've never cooked with soya mince before and I've been impressed so far. It's also healthier and cheaper to use, so I think I will alternate, using minced beef on other occasions.
DH returns to work tomorrow but the girls have another full week off. I'm back in on thursday and they're coming with me to be my new classroom assistants for the day! Tomorrow's plan is to do lots of rushing around as we need to visit quite a few different shops for various things.
My 2 new sofas are due to be delivered from DFS this week but I'm not sure on which day as DFS only seem to give 24hours notice. My parent's have offered to wait in for me if they are delivered at the end of the week. I need to arrange for our last remaining sofa to be collected before then too. We might have to sit on garden chairs if the new ones don't arrive!
Time to go I think, so have a good evening.:D0 -
well done on the weight loss catowen

Hi everyone, huge well done (and thank you
) to those of you that ran the race for life!
I'm shattered already, I've come to work (yes I know  ) to get some respite - sad really. My grandma is a bit better, I phoned the hospital, but couldn't speak to her, but my mum said she is better and is definitely coming home tuesday if the scan is okay (she's had brain surgery before, so they are understandably cautious). My mum and her sister are fighting again (they hate each other) which doesn't help. Honestly. Parents. I sent her a card and a some little things (puzzle books I know she likes, a wheat pillow and some chocolate) to arrive when she gets home.
OH's ex phoned again yesterday - she apparently is dealing with her debt by contacting what sounds like an IVA company. I suggested OH to mail her the links to this site if she wants some help (TBH I don't care if she works out who I am provided she gets some help
). This is just getting messier by the minute. She now wants a token maintainace payment of £10 a month until she remarries. Massive alarm bells are sounding here, as it although it's very little it would stop a clean break order, be a long-term tie and she could go back to the court to have it raised if she got herself into even more debt or OH became better off financially. I just want it all to stop.
I don't know what her debt is (again, I don't ask - it isn't right for me to), but she is in full time employment and OH took the bulk of the debt on when he left, so it can't be that much.
I'm invigilating next week again and I've got a computer course on thursday, which I'm quite looking forward too so some peace. Saying that my boss has just appeared so I need to look busy - 8.30pm on a sunday?!!??
Hope you all have a good evening, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
