    Evening all

The sun came out here about 1ish and it's been lovely. Asked DS if he wanted to go to the beach but he wanted to stay in the garden. Have managed to do some serious pruning. Have also potted up the lettuces. Shall have a go at the peppers tomorrow. Need to get my tomatoes in as well at the allotment. Everything seems to have survived ok but the weeds are a bit scary!

Off to do some knitting for a bit. Diet going well so far but then I'm only in day 2. Sunday lunch will be my biggest test after sharing a bottle of wine!

Hugs to anyone who wants one.

    Sleep tight

I've been doing my bit for mse. I went to the local village newsagent and found some women complaining about the cost of things so referred them to the mse site.
I'm always doing stuff like that :D Some people look at you weird, but most are really grateful! I introduced a colleague to Quidco as well as MSE's "best cashback sites" tool - and he hasn't stopped raving about them since :rotfl:

I had a frustrating day at work today - just the same people being useless as are always useless. Despite being very very busy, I kept dipping into MSE all day as - rather than distracting me - it sort of cleared the fog from my brain and I was able to focus on the task in hand (and not strangle anybody. Actually, the person I most wanted to strangle - who can't follow instructions and never spell-checks her work - was on leave today, so I couldn't have killed her even if I'd wanted to, which I really, really did )

stefejb - speaking as somebody who's blind as a bat without my specs, I'd be fuming about that! Dunno if you're on schedule to get an NHS voucher, but if not, the specs might be covered on your home contents insurance. Hope the situation doesn't interfere too much with your plans for tomorrow ;)

Went to the doc's - well, the nurse's - and got told that I drink too much and need to lose 2 stone - well, yes, I already knew that :D

Then came home to wait in for my wine delivery, and the Tesco man was EARLY! 19:38 he arrived, was supposed to be between 8 and 10! He was lucky I was in... It was a good result all round, because Tesco automatically honoured my points voucher AND my free delivery (despite not being able to fulfil the whole order) without me having to call CS.

Just made a huge fish pie... well I say A huge fish pie, it actually made 2 dishes full, maybe 10 portions

Well despite me wanting a chinese, I was good or rather 'oldstyle' and baked some spuds in the oven. So a small but significant achievement especially as I was cheesed off earlier.

Oh and I've written some reclaim PPI letters which I've been meaning to get round to for ages.

Not the most exciting friday night but a bit productive. All money spent today has been on bills.

Going to find a bottle of something, get my nightie on and chill for the rest of the evening. xx

Nope - no interference whatsoever - it might interfere with the plans of the numpty who didn't take her glasses off for the rides but mostly for the grownup numpty who didn't make sure she took them off. She isn't due a voucher until October I think. The plan is to go back to thorpe park and see if they've found them - "yes certainly sir - do come in for free and fish around in our Tidal Wave while we hold up the queue" failing that the plan is to try to get her prescription from specsavers and take it to visionexpress or whoever will make them up quickly. It was my fault for about 5 minutes when they tried to say I should have warned them but 15 minutes of going rrrrrraaaaaarrrrrrr soon sorted that out. It has meant that I'm stuck with him for the night so I'm doing a Tru and have just scoffed trout for one with chips and salad and am currently observing the usual tradition of Daddy Friday is Vodka Night so chin chin

Had a lovely evening with friends - the barbeque was abandoned in favour of bolognaise and DS's scones indoors ;) I alternated each glass of red with one of sparking water, for a clear head tomorrow

DD has had similar problems in the past. She depends on her glasses as she's counted as legally blind and partialy sighted. Both Specsavers and Vision Express sorted this out and re-issued her with another pair of glasses FREE...we just had to pay for the special thinning as they would be too heavy to sit on her face otherwise:rolleyes:

I am sure that they will sort it for you.

cheers for that pen-pin but frankly my dear i don't give a damn - I hope it costs him dear and teaches her to put the spare pair somewhere safe. dd11 is a bit shortsighted and her face looks weird without them but I'm sure she can cope for a day or so. How you feeling anyway?

To all you wonderful people that are doing the Race for Life, as someone who is benifitting from the research, and the terrific care I have had from the Breast care nurses may I say thank you .Its amazing what is done with the money.
I wanted to have a go myself ,not that I could run, but I could probably manage a decent hobble, but as I'm still having radio therapy my oncologist said No very firmly .But I shall definitely have a go next year .I have about four relatives that are running this year for Cancer research in the Race for Life, and also my nephew who is a very busy Vicar, but he too is running for all of us ladies who find ourselves with this dreadfully frightening disease. Roll on next year and I too shall be doing my bit.
    Thank you all:A
