    Hi

Has anyone of you wonderful people got any ideas about how to get some peacock feathers apart from the obvious ebay route. Trying really hard to help DS1 and fiancee.

P.S I have emailed our local zoo !!

Sometimes you find them in the homewares section of places like debanhams and in party/fancy dress shops - they are often quite cheap in party shops too. Failing that, some national trust places have peacocks in the garden and might let you have a few (or visit Howletts with a packet of cake crumbs and a pair of pliers :D )

tru - my OH is like that with shopping too, I only shop in tescos to spend clubcard vouchers, then will do the very bare minimum so I'm up in terms of points (I want to do a course on the OU and I need about £600 of vouchers :) ) - OH decided to spend them this time to save me a job, not understanding that 1 item from the bakery could be a pack of half price rolls lunches for 50p rather than a 2.50 loaf of specialist Polish rye bread that he then decided he doesn't like. :wall:

Exam went well and they've given me another 3 sessions of work, so I'm very happy. Even the chemistry is going well today *touches wood* :) cel x

    Hi again

Got home at 4.00pm and noticed a text from DS asking "where are you, Mum? You were supposed to take me to Manda's house for 3.00pm". Errrm, no I wasn't. Phoned him and after a few well-chosen words, he decided that he would still go. So, I had to drive through rush hour traffic to drop him there and then he tells me that everyone will probably be going home at 5! So, I'm here waiting for the text to tell me that I need to drive through rush hour traffic AGAIN to bring him home.

I will have to put off my dvd (In memory of me - an Italian film, I think) and keep the wine in the fridge until he is back with XDH. Oh well, I suppose that's what us mums do.

tru Hope master tru's hand is ok. That is one scary looking piece of equipment.
chalky I know that some zoos sell peacock feathers - I'm not sure but either Blackpool or Chester Zoo was charging £3 per feather and that is a few years ago now. Hope you manage to get some cheaper than that.
aussie Hope your DSis is ok until her op. She was quite anxious about it all, wasn't she?
kyle well done on your weight loss! :T I have managed to put ON 4lbs this week and that's all because I visited my family in Scotland - my Mum is incapable of having a cup of tea without a biscuit or a cake or a roll or a sandwich or........ I did my best to eat what I should and when I should but it's nigh on impossible.

Have a great evening everyone. x

I've been doing my bit for mse. I went to the local village newsagent and found some women complaining about the cost of things so referred them to the mse site.

I've washed the pet rats cage, two loads of washing and have reikied the whole garden, especially the fruit trees and vegs. Now looking forward to bumper crops.

I've had 2 items collected from freecycle, paid a humoungous amount of money out in bills, argued with 'Ken' from the water company who insisted I pay 6 months up front when I insisted that I wished to pay monthly. Don't like Ken.

Talked to the council tax folks as well re discounts and such like and my ever expanding council tax bills. Think I came to an arrangement of sorts whilst I'm appealing stuff.

Had left over curry for lunch, v. v. nice.;)

Never got to make a cake, my OH is in a foul mood and it's made me feel really rubbish.
Fed up so may sack the rest of today off and go and get slightly inebriated.:p

And that folks was my half term week, taken the week off as leave and it's ended rubbish.

    No friday feeling here.

Triker - enjoy your drink and hope that tomorrow is a better day, felt a bit like that yesterday - didnt drink just ate loads of chocolate.

Well just had dinner and feel very full up but need to go and do the ironing now - did loads of paperwork this morning but got way laid with other stuff this afternoon - v annoying.

Will do the ironing watching the last episode of Tenko - was too young when it was on first time but have really enjoyed watching it now. Quite sad its finished.

DD has managed to persuade me to take her shopping in Chelmsford tomorrow - did a deal where she has promised to get her hair cut in supercuts. DD hates having her hair cut.

Anyway - ironing for me, I can still remember the days when Friday night meant going out night - not any more.

    Hi Guys!

Another late one from me. Ive had a rough day and think I have a cold coming.

WM has been on twice today and the cleaners have been in, so house lovely and clean. I have also found another helper for a Monday as I put an advert online locally this week and she replied back living quite close to me. She did the ironing for me yesterday and dropped it back today and is fine. I am hoping she can start Monday, but will wait and see. It is an added expense, but as we have cut down so much elsewhere it is money well spent and helps OH out. I am hoping that OH can maybe go to the driving range or have a round of golf whilst she is here as he deserves some time to himself.

Bethebee-I hope you are OK hun...have been thinking about you today.

Penelope Penguin-I think you will turn some heads wearing that outfit:D

OH & DD have gone to the theatre with about 30 friends to watch Beauty & The Beast on ice. I was supposed to be taking DD but wasnt feeling well enough, so OH went in my place and being with all women...I am sure he will enjoy himself:rotfl:

Its the first time I have been left alone since coming out of hospital and I am enjoying the peace and quiet. Its only for 2 hrs but nice all the same.

My stitches came out from my tummy today and I have a small infection, so have been given some spray and dressings. The nurse is back on Sunday, so she will keep checking it.

Anyway, Im going to enjoy my last hour of peace.

    Take care all.

    He won't let me

I could edit it to just show the beginning, where people's faces aren't showing. But it's not very dramatic at the start, the blood really gets going about 30 secs later

Now then, how do I edit a video in windows media player
