    Hi

Not been here for a while but need to get back into the groove. Printed off a Menu for the month with a blank space for meals so that I only buy what I need as I want to cut out the waste I have in my freezer every Month.
Went shopping and stuck to my list and only spent £2.69 as i did not top up with "Extras" :D

"Every long journey starts with the first step" :D:D

Off to work later so should not spend any there as I froze a portion of Cottage pie from last week to take just to work. Good Eh ;)

Hope you all have a great day and have a nice weekend.

    Morning everyone!

Just off to Lidl's to see if they have had courgettes delivered today as theirs are £1.49/kg, and also get some of their beef/vine tomatoes 99p/kg, in preparation for making some yummy ratatouille mix for veg lasagne. I already got the aubergine in asda (50p).

Was looking at the gas/elec comparison yesterday, just seeing what I could save, around £200 a year they reckon, but after reading the reviews about not getting meters read and wrong DDebits - I'm totally confused as to whether its worth the hassle of changing IYSWIM?? (the saying if it ain't broke, don't fix it - springs to mind) - plus I remember the hassle when I tried the phone to Talktalk:eek: Has anyone else actually changed suppliers and how have you found it??

Need to sort out what to wear for my RaceforLife Run on sunday, hope it stays dry!!

Chicken for dinner tonite, with left over ecuadorian chocolate pudding (tesco finest) for dessert!

Ronankfan/vickyA - enjoy the concert!! sorry about yr gran x
betheebe - good luck today x
    Catowen/MrsMix - :hello:

    Hi again

Turkey curry now in the SC. Have just checked my mini greenhouse and coldframe. Everything has gone mad in there. Letuces are now ready to be potted on again into there final pots, I have some salad leaves that are ready and my first radishes :j . Am so chuffed.

VICKYA sorry to hear about your Nan. People have to be really ill with dementia to warrant any sort of hospital or carehome admission these days. Relatives and carers are just left to get on with it for as long as possible. Hugs to you and your Nan.

Angie-Love what a good boy you have!

    Catch you later.

    Morning Everyone

Have read the thread in but promptly forgotten everything so ((hugs)) if you need them. The reason my memory is so poor this morning is dd was up every hour or so last night. I really feel sorry for her but was abit sharp at 6am when she would'nt watch cbeebies without me in the room, baring in mind that we live in a bungalow and our bedroom is next door to the play room.

The kitchen is almost finished but dstep-bro is going away for a week tomorrow so progress will be slow. Hopefully I'm going to be able to clean out the cupboards today at some point and put in the moveable shelves so I can fill them. Apart from that I'm hoping to find the breadmaker so I can make some tempting bread for dd and maybe a pizza base.

    Have a good day everyone

Hello and good morning, well today is payday :j so I'm a happy bunny. I can shift through the bills of doom and pay them.

Then I'll be skint again until next month :o.

Anyway, today is again going to be a get rid of junk day and sort out car boot stuff day and also freecycle.

I would like to bake a cake I think. I have to admit I am quite notorious in our house for my cake disasters but still keen.:D

So I'll go for a coffee and walnut number with Twinks hobnobs to ease the pain for the other family members as I can get these right.:T

Weather wise its cloudy but warm here so maybe a bit more washing to get done and then its just a question of waiting for the ironing fairy to appear......

Hope you all have a productive, old style day.

    good morning all.

hugs to penpin and anyone else who needs them.

hope you get your time off n9eav.
bethbee - hope the op is ok and your brother gets good news on tuesday. mioliere - i feel like i cook about a dozen meals on a repeating pattern. doesn't help that i'm trying to cater for a baby, two fussy children, the hungriest man in the world who may or may not need his food plated up and reheated, and me (a veggie).
hardup hester - enjoy your skirt. if you fell in love with it when you first saw it, and still wanted it when you next saw it AND it was reduced, then it was clearly meant to be.
sorry to anyone else i've missed out - baby is pulling the mouse and my message may disappear into the ether at any moment.

today is a lovely day in cardiff. i have pegged out some washing, have more on the go, and we have been to asda for a few bits and pieces for the weekend. my parents are coming to visit this weekend - they live 200 miles away so we dont see them very often. my children are VERY excited.

while i was at asda i got some of that milk, £2 for 2 lots, and some yellow stickered meatballs that i've shoved in the freezer for another day.

well, off to make some rolls for lunch - with some samosas and chicken satay from teh deli counter - it's now only 7 bits for £1, not 8, but i noticed the lovely lady shoved an extra samosa in as they were looking a bit tired.

have a lovely last day of half-term everyone.

    Good morning all!

More tidying up here again today, kitchen looked like a bombsite when I walked into it this morning, now how did that happen?

Made a vast amount of veg curry yesterday in the SC, still plenty left, so will have some for lunch and freeze the rest. Need to make a couple of loaves - dd1 put one in BM for me and we'd run out of normal yeast and only had sachet stuff, told her to use one, well the bread was certainly light and well risen, would have been an even bigger loaf if the lid of the BM hadn't constrained it lol!

Friend and her two boys are coming for the weekend, don't see her that often as she lives about 200 miles away, so that will be lovely, and oh is babysitting all the kids so we can go out on Saturday night with some other friends of mine, lovely!

Also had a surprise call from a friend of mine to say they are thinking of moving home from Oz, and are coming over for a couple of months anyway - I'm so excited, I really miss her, she only lived down the road and it was fab to be able to just drop in for a cuppa and a moan and a laugh any time!

Just dropped ds off at his girlfriends house "she's not my girlfriend mum", and dd's plus a neighbours' dd, who I really have gained for the hols, she even has her own place at the table, are playing on the wii! Went out to get a new pasta maker and got a wii instead, hmm, not quite sure how that happened, other than dd1 is a bad influence on me when I'm shopping! Actually we've been considering getting one for ages, oh was very keen, so it's been called a family present!

Taking a friend to his counselling session later, he finishes far too exhaused to drive home, so will have a mooch around the town then and see if I can find a pasta machine - though heaven alone knows what I might end up with this time!

Thinking of going to the theatre with oh tonight, how expensive are tickets though?! Might see if they do standby or something.

Hope everyone has a lovely day xx

    Morning everyone,

Goodness PPen won't you be a bit chilly in that. Very daring too :D I suppose it's better than those ghastly stretchy bicycle shorts some wear. It's been pouring down here most of the day. Ninny day didn't happen. It's on Monday now, but I went up this arv to have a quick play while the weather held. Fiddled around in the kitchen and started up my tapestry that's been languishing on the back burner for a few years.

DSis goes in for her op June 16th. Got the letter today. It will go quick enough. The weather is to be dismal all weekend. Good weather for the ducks.

Charlies Mum I didn't know you were that old :D
    Beth Good luck.
VickyA You will have more upsetting times ahead with your grandma and her dementia. It's a terribly sad disease for the loved ones. <hugs>
JackieO So refreshing to read your positive posts. You must be looking forward to your lovely holiday.

Well I'm off to shower. Just heard DH finish. I wonder how much hot water he's left me. Hope you all have a happy day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hello all !
Seem to have spent most of the morning making a 'thinking of you' card for an ex foster lad who''s grandad died Wednesday night............loads of other things I should have been doing.........oh well, we've got a 'kid free zone' this weekend as our lad is going to his brothers.
Now he's got a job (hope this one lasts) he's so full of himself that him and his friend went to look at a house to rent just across the road from us. He can't have the lease in his name as he's not 18 yet which poses all sorts of security worries...........if they fall out he could be homeless..........plus the general running costs, council tax etc. that he's not used to. I'd prefer that he'd stayed put and had a bit of a 'practise run' with us before he ventured out like that. Still, I'm not going to discourage him apart from pointing out the realities of it all and then see what happens. I also have visions of all sorts of all night parties going on:eek:

Hope you all have a good day and hugs ((((((((((:o )))))))) to those who need them
