I got an invite to re-join today but MMS are now rebranded as OutNow, presumably to distance themselves from the bad reputation they have gained.

Haha, so did I, EL, how funny!

I should think you and I are the last people they would want to deal with again! Hee hee!

  • I was a member of MMS for almost 2 years until I finally gave up on never gettting the DVDs I really wanted to see. Two months after I cancelled the service with no obvious hassle I got an surprise welcome back email from OutNow and two new DVDs were dispatched. Customer service now deny that I cancelled the service and that it was just frozen - not true, I got proof of postage etc but didn't think to keep the final email. The new web page has no facility to cancel so I am stuck with 2 DVDs I don't want. Its rather tragic that this company is so desperate for money that it uses its resources to con people rather than try to operate a decent service in the first place. If anyone finds a way to cancel please reply. My biggest worry is that they have access to so many people's personal data.
  • I have also had a very bad experience they are now under the suppliers of wilkinson plus dvd online rental The customer service I recieved was apalling telling me I owed them money which I didn't telling me I had stole discs when I had sent them back and shouting to me down the phone needless to say I have complained to wilkinsons and so far have only recieved an apology
Make £5 a day in May total so far £2
  • Hello all,

I wish I had read this board before I signed up!!

    My story (in short)

Signed up for the free trial
    Sent the DVDs back
    Cancelled the trial
    DVDs went missing
    Called MMS (not ON)
Said they would sent out lost DVD forms - Never came
    £90 taken from my account

There is no way of contacting them as the number is always 'busy' between 10-5.

    Help! what can I do?
  • Hi Steele77 sorry to hear it, unfortunately this is quite common and there seems to be no way to stop them except to never sign up with MMS, or their 'new' company, but for most people it's too late once you sign up.

I would write to them via registered letter, stating the fact you want the 'lost dvd' form asap and a refund - superflygal makes some good recommendations on this thread as to what to do.

I have personally not heard from them since sending back the lost dvd form. However nothing has been taken from my account not sure whether to do anything else... superfly any ideas?

  • I have also received debt collection letters, after cancelling 18 months ago, hearing nothing, and then suddenly these letters. I called their 'customer service' line, but was shouted at by an illiterate fool who said that I couldn't prove that I'd cancelled.

The fact that I haven't had any DVD's from them since I cancelled apparently means nothing, and they're now trying to charge me for 18 months worth of payments!

I'm not paying them, but I've given up fighting them too. Now I'm just ignoring them!
  • Be careful Myrtle as these guys are pros at this, as you can see from the similar stories on this thread. You may end up with a bad credit rating if you ignore their letters. I would advise seeking advice from your citizens advice bureaux just in case.

  • How I wish I'd read these forums before signing up with Outnow/MyMovieStream! I started a two month trial after seeing an offer on Egg's website.

Two discs I sent back to Outnow have gone missing. I didn't get proof of postage, because I wasn't planning to cancel my trial. I'm worried they will try to charge me for these discs.

The Terms & Conditions state you may be charged if you fail to report the loss within 30 days or if you fail to complete and return a Lost Disc Form within 14 days of reporting the loss. I have reported the loss, so now I just need to return the Lost Disc Form. The problem is, they haven't sent me one yet. And with reduced Christmas postal service, it looks unlikely I'll be able to receive and return it within the 14 day period (ending on the 29th).

Does anyone have a digital copy of the Lost Disc Form, or a printed copy they could very kindly scan and email to me? I'd be eternally grateful, as I could then get it completed and sent back to Outnow on Monday morning.

Personally, I think their T&Cs are completely unenforceable, but for now I'd rather follow them to the letter to avoid unwanted grief later.
