    hiya all brides to be

our date is provisionally the 1st nov 2009 in cancun, mexico

reasons - date - we got engaged 1st nov 2003

location - we had our first holiday there in 1999 not long after we started going out, and loved it.

we haven't booked yet but are thinking about the moon palace spa & golf resort in cancun (5 star :j ) for the wedding during a 2 week holiday. paid for by mr t (tesco deals) :j , we have been saving our points like crazy.

rings - goldsmiths, paid for by mr t:j .

honeymoon - 2 weeks dream destination (not decided yet). probably after xmas, again paid for by mr t.

dress - will buy from asapbay when lost some more weight.

grooms outfit - kilt ( need to see if it is possible to hire a kilt for so long and the costs or possibly he will buy a lightweight version with the jacobite shirt, he remembers seeing it in the royal mile in edinburgh for about 100 quid)

we want a small intimate wedding and will invite all guests out to cancun - unfortunately we can't pay for them but hope they will save or take it as their summer holiday for that year.

those that can't come we are planning a blessing when we come back, ( i have a couple of older aunts who might not be up to the flight)

That cake topper - in our house it's more like the groom dragging the bride away from the computer :o

I'm all excited today - We've emailed to book our photographer and made our appointment to give notice. And I handed in my notice at work (New job with a tiny drop in salary but a walk to work - saving me £4500 a year, hurrah!) so I'm all excited about all sorts of things! Had a moment this morning of "oh my god, we're getting married!!!" this morning - it suddenly seemed real! :T

Back to thinking of it as a big party and posh frock again now though :D

I'm not sure where to get it, I just found the picture on the internet so I'm going to see if my cake maker can do it, if not I'll find someone :D

oh, and I recieved my dress from ebay this morning...

    91.jpg

It's gorgeous, and not bad for about £70 :rotfl:
    Pigsback - 500 points, Happyfly - £37.92, Juicy Brains - £1.25, Valued Opinions - Zilch, Casback Rewards - £2.78

We finally chose the cake! Or H2B did-and I will be making it on my own. Got word from his folks that they may be able to make it out from SA so both our parents will be there.

Im also toying with idea of making flowers from sugarpaste for the flower arrangements.I know it'll be more work-but we can make loads of sugarpaste really cheap-they can be done a long time in advance and they can be given to guests after as keepsakes which mean we dont have to get rid of them ourselves.
  • I dreamt about my wedding last night. It was lovely,I was getting ready in my big white dress, very like the one above, and feeling gorgeous. But I am not having a big white dress:rolleyes: .Has MIL managed to somehow infiltrate my dreams?

Well i had a proper trying on session of my dress this last weekend. Took measurements so i know what i need to lose since it wont do up, but i wanted to share the pictures my mum took, I think it looks great even without an underskirt which i will be getting closer to the time.

My boxes of the wedding invites are due to arrive this week so thats one job for H2b as they arrive flat pack. The corks for the bottles have also arrived so hes also unscrewing all the lids putting in the correct amount of crystals then poping in a cork. He wanted to help but with a job that couldnt really go wrong. Helps me as they are the two most boring jobs to do and hes happy hes helping!:T
