8 August 2009 - we got engaged on 9 August this year :D and I've been a busy bunny ever since!

We're getting married in our local church and then the reception is at the United Services club, we've booked the 4pm slot so we don't have to pay for two meals - get hitched then all off to the club for the buffet :p 100 guests, same for the ceremony and the party.

Dress will be from ebay (jewlzbridal, Melanie in ivory and red - and so the rest of the wedding will follow the red and white theme, handy as OH is a Liverpool fan), ordering that next week so that I'm not disappointed if they discontinue it, and I've already done the bouquets - fake flowers from Wilkos of all places, four bunches for me put together with ribbon and some glass drops in there from Dunelm! The bridesmaids are having one lot of flowers (again with ribbon around the stems) - will try and take some photos later! I've got the BMs a red necklace each as their gifts and hopefully they will wear them on the day, and one of them has lent me a tiara to wear (something borrowed!)

Invitations are out already - however this is mainly because we work in a school as do most of our friends, with only a 6 week window to choose from (had to be out of the football season as well apparently  ) we thought we should get the invites out sooner rather than later so that they don't all go on holiday that week - turns out that even my mum would have been on holiday then had we not let her know, and we've saved money by not posting out 'save the date' cards as well as invites :T

FIL2B is a cabbie and has agreed to take me to the church in the taxi so that saves on hiring a flash car, I had my heart set on the cab as well so dead chuffed that he said yes :p

Cake has been spotted in Tesco and I've bought the ribbon to go round - again, in red - and we've bought 20 white church candles which we'll put ribbon round for centrepieces (doesn't matter if they can't be lit!)

Even my wedding ring has been bought, spotted that on our camping holiday in sunny Wales last week, cost £40 but need to get it enlarged, however the shop that enlarged my engagement ring might do it for free anyway!

I'm very much of a mind to just sort out what we can now and then it's done with, especially as costs of everything seem to be going through the roof!

Yay a twin! I was a bit worried when I looked at the list, thought perhaps something was wrong with the 8th! What a relief :p

Hope your plans are going well too x

I don't think the OP has had chance to update the list yet....looks like only the two of us on here though. We got engaged 5 years ago and decided about 3 weeks ago that next year was the year. We have booked our ceremony, reception venue and I am collecting my dress tommorow yay! Have you found your dress?

I have, this is the one - I'll order it next week - such an impatient girlie! Can keep a hold of it then until next year so I can have it taken in, am planning to lose a stone or so but if I don't then it doesn't matter, I'm ordering the dress to fit me now
