and another october 09 weddings
I know - we're the only 2 in October so far...we decided on our date because it will be our 10 year anniversery of getting together! I'm so excited even though it's 15 months away LOL!
We'll have to keep catching up to see how far we have got along - What have you got started so far?

not much lol
I've got my bridesmaids sorted, and have ordered my dress from ebay, just waiting for it to arrive. My veil arrived this morning which looks lovely.
I have my theme sorted, it was black and white, but we've just changed our mind and gone for an autumn theme, seeing as though we both love that season.
I've been to see the vicar and booked the date, don't need to see him again for another year, to sort everything out.
I know what my invites are going to be like, I'm making them myself in true MSE style, and I have a few plans for table decorations, which I am also doing myself
phew... I've done more than I thought lol
oh... and I also set up my own wedding countdown website, so friends and family can check on progress etc... here's mine....
http://hopkins.weddingpath.co.uk
you can also set one up, I've put it on Save the Date cards so people can check it out, I think it's a great idea as all his family is from Gloucester and we're in Manchester, so they can see where we are getting married, and the reception etc.Pigsback - 500 points, Happyfly - £37.92, Juicy Brains - £1.25, Valued Opinions - Zilch, Casback Rewards - £2.78

Wow - you seem really organised compared to me LOL! I love your wedding website, I might well just try and sort one of those out myself..... Your church looks beautiful....
I see from the ebay dress thread, you are getting your dress from Landy...I'll be really interested to know if you are pleased with it as I am thinking about getting mine from there too.
I have two venues shorlisted now:
Quindell Golf and Country Club - they have an amazing marquee, but no civil ceremony license, so we would have to get married in a registry office and transport the guests over....
New Place, Shirral Heath - Looks lovely and we are going to visit it this week. I will feel so much better once I have booked a venue!
We have decided on autumn theme colours too for the day, lots of deep reds and golds.
I'm pulling together ideas for favours and table decorations too - and I will be making them, as well as our invitations.
I'm lucky that my aunt is an amazing cake decorator and my mum is an amazing cake maker...so the cake is sorted and I just need to decide how I want it!
I could potentially be have 6 bridesmaids, but am looking to get the dresses from the highstreet in the Jan sales (from debenhams/Monsoon outlet!).....
So thats about where I am! Still lots and Lots to do, but I'm loving the wedding planning :rotfl:

Yeh, I was planning on going to the jan sales, but I've got 2 younger bridesmaids and 1 older, but I want them all matching if possible, I know it's going to be hard though lol
I've also got the cake sorted, someone my Dad works with is going to make it for a fraction of the price. I'm getting really excited now, and then I remember that it's over a year away

Hi, we haven't booked yet as our register office will only let you do so 12 month's in advance, but we really want 09/09/09. Even if we don't get that date, we will still be gettign married either late Aug or Sept next year.:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0

i had this exact problem as OH wanted them all in the same dress and shoes - not easy when you have 6, 8 and 19 year old bridesmaids. Have a look here for dresses http://www.jewlzbridal.co.uk/ I picked all 3 up yesterday and they were just over £200 in total. They are great quality and the staff are really helpful I took DD for trying on session as we only live about an hour away.
They do have sales on stock items sometimes as well as an eBay shopOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Hello - Can I join in too?
We're on 19/9/09 - international speak like a pirate day!!!
So far we have:
- Booked venue (Hotel wedding so that's ceremony and reception done - deposit paid too!)
- Reserved registrar (can't book properly till a year to go)
- Found lady to make my outfit and half decided on design
- Booked DJ (random find!)
Taking it all fairly slowly and just doing things as and when we get time/the money as we've just moved too. Phew.
Current plan is to make the bridesmaids dresses myself though I need to get practicing now I think! Have one godmother who is a make up artist and one who does a lot of stationary making so those things are also sorted (and if stationary godmother decides not to nearer time (health) then I'm quite crafty too). Going to try and DIY our decorations and centrepieces and flowers too. I'm going to be a busy girl – now, if only I could imagine what it might be like!0 -
