    July 2009.

Booking Exact Date in 2 weeks time.
We Hope for 27th July 2009. (5 years to the date since we started Dating)

    >We have chosen Bridesmaids, My 2 little sisters and my fella's Neice & 2 chiefbridesmaids.. couldnt
choose between my two best friends, 2 flowegirls.

    >Chose and Sorted Best Man, page boy, ushers and ring bearer.

    >Decided on Theme and color. rose/wine Red and Ivory.

    >Red and white Roses *Own bouquet*

    >Red and white Daisies for the girls.

    >I worked as a florist for two months and have learnt quite a bit as i managed to squeeze in 4 weddings. So i will be heading to my nearest flower market for cheaper flowers and accesories and arranging my own Boquets *own and girls* and Button Holes. Will save a LOT of money!

    >My fella is Half scottish/Half Irish so men will be in kilts.

    >Still undecided on a cake, I saw a cake i love which was £450 for 5 tiers. The my Partner said he could ask his mum to make it. ----How much do you guys reckon a 6 tier sponge cake would cost to make + icing *red and white* + Accesories?

We still have AGES to go it seems, so I've been looking for other things to do to keep me sane.
Nonetheless, I have decided on our centre pieces and have started collecting glass jars for them. I'm going to do tea lights in jars and paint them in designs that will compliment my dress. Will post a pic once I've done one.

ooo that sounds like a good idea, I have no idea what we are going to do for ours...partly depends on wether we decide to have casserole for the meal from the caterer (thought it would be a nice way for people to start talking to eachother as a big pot gets put on the middle of the table) but tealights in jars sounds elegant :)

If you wanted them there but also the pots (good idea too) You could also use them as a border round the room (kid friendly) or you could use them to create an "aisle" for when Mr and Mrs enter the room-or depending on the venue policies-you could arrange for them to be suspended from the ceiling above the tables-use acculon which is nice and strong but also clear so it wont be that visible.
  • Hiya all Brides to be!

Can you please add my date to the list: 02 October 2009 (our 10 year anniversary of getting together...so have not waited to long LOL!)

So far all we have done is set our date, decide on our budget (£6000) and check out some venues.

The venue searching is not going so well  its all so bliming expensive - I am getting to the point now that I think it is exceptable for a hotel to charge you £1000 to hire a room for a couple of hours and charge £20.00 for a bottle of wine :rotfl:

I live in Southampton - have any of you ladies got any idea ! Loooking ideally for somewhere we can get married, have a hot buffet style meal for approx 60, then have an evening disco for about 100. We sill not be feeding the guests in the evening, just providing a drink and some wedding cake (which my aunt will be making for me).

My sister had a fab wedding last year for any other Southampton ladies looking for a reception venue. She got married in the registry office and then had her reception in Cuccini's on the quay. Its a lovely venue, with a roof garden if you wish (weather permitting), the views over the water are lovely. The food was good and they did not charge a venue hire..... If ony I had got there first LOL.

    Love Hunny x

    Hi Ladies
After a rocky start of indecisiveness! The church and venue is now booked - with menus agreed! Have bought a beautiful dress and decided on bridesmaid colour. Have found someone to make the bridesmaid dresses. Have booked a beautiful Bentley for the day and found the perfect photographer - and only £375 for a storybook which we thought we could never afford! Also done a lot of research into flowers and think I will go for fresh ones afterall.
Good luck with your plans everyone!

  • Hey Skyecelio- you'll be a bride the day before me! And you are far more organised than me. Must book a photographer and get wedding insurance this month!

Luckily our venue will provide a disco for £250 and table flowers for free so two less things to worry about!

Need to think about dress shopping soon as I want to decide on a dress before I nail down a colour scheme. Worried a white or cream dress might totally wash me out.
  • hey all..
