Martin could you post a pic so I can see the extent of the damage?

I've been trying but don't know how to post up.

If you use a site like photo bucket you can upload to there then copy and paste the link.

I think you've just chewed through the tips, if they come less than half way up your glasses it's a 5 minute job to replace them.

Have you tried an independent optician? Failing that I know for fact that Asda opticians can order tips in at no coar to the customer.
  • Thank you GlasweJen. Yes, it it the plastic tips as you describe them.
I will try an independent as you suggest. It can't cost that much.
  • Good news! I had them repaired at an independent locally. It cost £8 and when I got them back they had cleaned them electronically and replaced the nose pads for new ones as well!

  • I thought I would share this little tip on the forum. After spending over £250 on the latest model Raybans whilst on holiday in Cape Town last year, I was gutted when I notice that I'd cracked the lens already. less than a year old! My optician quoted £180 to fix them, saying that both lens needed replacing at the same time so they were 'consistent' which was really annoying...
Anyhow I saw the advert for reglazemyglasses.com on a billboard on the M25, and thought I'd get them to quote. Genuine Rayban lens back fixed and all happy. £60. Very happy.... The chap who contacted me was really helpful. Suggested alternative lens for the frames if £60 was beyond my budget as well....

I've just sent them my reading glasses too...
  • Has anyone with a high prescription -15 & over had their glasses reglazed by Ciliaryblue?

I'd be very wary of getting a prescription that high made online. The problem is, fitting becomes critical at that power and there's no way Ciliaryblue or any other online supplier can fit the glasses for you, as a decent high-street optician would. Without professional fitting, there's a good chance you won't be able to see with the new lenses, even if they've been made perfectly.

The reason most online suppliers limit their prescription range isn't because they can't physically make the lenses - it's to limit returns.

  • For high prescriptions, CB ask the customer to contact them by telephone to discuss.

They get an outside lens company to make the lenses, then they fit them.
