I used IWHS10 last time as I bought the frames from an ebay company that gave me the code, not sure if it still works though, it was a while ago! You'll be happy with ciliaryblue either way, me and my family used them many times now.

Had to stop by and recommend Cillaryblue. They offered fantastic customer service and re-glazed AND dispatched my glasses on the same day they received them, now that is fantastic service.

I have a really high prescription and so need the thinnest lenses going for my glasses. Yesterday I read the recommendations for Ciliary Blue above.

I emailed with a query and within minutes they emailed back and said they would be in the office today and could answer any questions if I rang. I rang today and they were extremely helpful, a damn sight cheaper than getting my lenses on the high street, and cheaper than most of the other internet based places that offer re-glaze services.

The chap says he will post me out a box to send them my glasses and prescription and that I should have it back in 4 to 5 days. That is also way quicker than anywhere else on the internet for complex prescriptions. He also said to call at any time if I had any queries or concerns.

As an interesting point - the manufacturer they get their lenses from is the same one used by a couple of high street chains.

Its so rare to get such good service that I have posted this on 2 threads. A :T from me so far!

Agree with other posters.
i have just used Ciliary Blue and joined the forum just to say how good they are. Glasses re-glazed and despatched in a few days constant updates via email but most important of all great customer service.
Highly recommended , why go anywhere else. But that's just my experience with them.

I had a fantstic experience with ciliary blue. Had an eyetest done at Boots on Wednesday (only £5 with voucher on their sight). In put my details on the ciliary blue website that afternoon. Recieved the box on Friday. Sent it off on Monday and last night (Wednesday evening) my old glasses with new lenses were back.
It's like seeing in HD my prescription has gone up that much.
A nice touch is that having measured my PD from my old lenses they inclued a card with my PD on it for future reference.
Will definetly be using them again and would heartily recommend them.

I rang Boots today after having my eyes tested yesterday to ask them for my p.d. pupillary distance measurement. They said they couldn't give it to me over the phone and when I asked them why not, she asked for my name, went away for 3 minutes and came back and said that they didn't take it as they would only do this when I was getting glasses! I'm a bit dubious about this but however I would be a little nervous about how accurate Ciliary Blue (great name!) would be when just measuring PD from my current glasses. Can anyone advise or reassure me?

The p.d issue keeps coming up. Optician's really should give it, we do measure it when we test you as we have to set the machine/trial frame up when we fit it to you when we do the test, but we don't always record it. I do and I'm happy to give the measurement out. The p.d really doesn't change from year to year as your eyes stay the same distance apart. It is different for distance and near as our eyes converge when we look up close, so it is always less for near. We use the p.d to set the optical centres (sweet-spot) of each lens in the correct place for your glasses, this is measured with the same sort of accuracy so can be used as a way to measure p.d safely. I know ciliaryblue use this method to measure the p.d if it's not supplied, as my own practice and many other high street Opticians use them to glaze their glasses for them. I do hope this helps.

Our optoms don't routinely write the pd down unless the patient is under 16, it's up to a dispenser to write the pd they measure down when they order up the glasses.
